| Quote: Big Graeme "It is not licensing law mate, it is restriction put on the stadium by the council so you could get a safety certificate, you can't be trusted to have a drink and behave by the sounds of it. Most people can differentiate between football and rugby.'"
It was a condition of the certificate yes, you may want to attach some other reasoning behind it, fwiw I like the fact that people aren't pushing backwards and forwards during the game anyway.
Having such a high opinion of yourselves as Quins fans is a really good way to win favour, honest.

| Unless anything has changed recently with the new board, the reason the club is not licenced for the seating area is because they never applied for one.
And whenever the matter was discussed on here the majority preferred it that way, as opposed to people constantly getting up and down to got o the bars.
Michael.

They did Mav, hence people could drink whilst watching the 20/20 cricket and can at concerts etc.
The reason is because of football not allowing it in view of the pitch, it was thought that it would cause aggro with some oe the less intelligent fans saying "but we can at the rugby".

Oh aye, any business is going to turn down income from bars when it is there to be had...

Strange, fans of other clubs/codes cope with it so well too.

Oddly enough, although it's seldom discussed here, some QuinsRL fans are also of that opinion. Well, this one is, and most others have probably never been asked.

| Quote: The Penguin "My preference would be open the East stand and the north stand. Stick the away fans in the north stand, overspill into the nearest corner of the East Stand. The rest is for quins fans, allocated for ST holders and the rest unallocated. Seems simple to me and preferable to the arrangement where we also open the south stand for between 50 and 100 spectators.'"
I'd go with that.

| have the east stand split in two from the middle, half of one half of the other
then have half of the north stand and northern end of the east stand open for home fans
half the south stand and southern end of the east stand for away fans
all easy to contain and steward

Complete pish! The view is the same, nothing in the way, no posts etc so why keep on moaning about it... again and again and again... yawn!

Fair enough then. My understanding was that different events needed their own licence and it was the club, rather than the SMC, who chose not to get one for the rugby.
Quote: Standee "Oh aye, any business is going to turn down income from bars when it is there to be had...'"
Nothing was surprising with the board we had.

Whether or not the difference is great enough to be worth arguing over, that does not mean Grundy is wrong. There is half the space between the Lexus and the pitch than there is on the East stand side and the view is better for it. Especially in the lowest rows.
Michael.

No its true, you are about 10 yards further away from the pitch. The view is not as good from the east, and the atmosphere not as good or as intimidating for visiting teams.

There are no posts but it is NOT the same. You are further away and even further from the players tunnel and the overall experience of the game is not as good. I understood that the reason for moving to the East stand was a better impression when we were on Sky. Well I watched the Hull game on TV and the empty stands really stood out so not sure the object was achieved.
