| I know this thread about marketing ideas and all that, but its been reported on here and on main Engage super League site they we are to play Manly before WCC, but nothing again on main Quins site, would there be a reason for this i.e. making sure grounds free, tickets and all that or just them being slow again.
As for posters that downloaded from here, can't get a shop in this area (bexleyheath kent) to put one up so just decided to put them on both our car windows and use to them to get word around when out and about. Which i think has worked saw a copper taking number down other day on way back to car (didnt rush back incase for some other reason he was there ),so like to think it was that he took down

| Ok......
I have watched these boards with interest for some time and have decided to take the plunge and throw in my tenpenneths worth.
I will be attending a meeting with the club next Wednesday to discuss the marketing of this game and would appreciate it if some of the more outspoken posters here would PM me their thoughts on how best to promote this game.
Whilst the easy option is to target the Austalians in the capital, I am keen to also push this to the local market and to the Harlequins Rugby Union fans.
Manly will be a big draw, especially if Austalia win the RLWC.
This is an opportunity for the fans to be heard by the club, so it really is time to voice your opinon on issues relating to the marketing of the game.
Many thanks in advance.

Mmmmm, not sure the Forum is the place to hassle hoggster over marketing YET. I would wait for the CEO and new head of Sales and Marketing to be in place before asking tough "business related" questions.
Still, each to their own.

| My question is young faces at the stoop, how we get them keep them and get their friends to come. Have an idea would like to know if the club is willing to take the chance.

Yes, but there is still a couple of months to go. The Manly game could act as the engine that could 'pull' the profile up. I really hope they (we) can get some decent marketing for this. It is another golden opportunity.

| On this subject of marketing, i see our brothers over on the Union side have not been at it again and have produced a shirt for their big game over the road at twickenham and linked up with a cancer charity. It still makes me wonder why we looking for a marketing manger when the money could be spend by linking up with the same company (EXP Sports) that QuinsRU use, they seem to do a great job for them.
On the Charity angle that was mentioned before in another thread, why dont QuinsRL try and link up with Help the Heroes for our game against Manly,as its a cause close to Sun's heart there could be a chance of good Sponsorship there, plus they would do a lot of promting for it in their newspaper.
And before anyone has a go at me for saying we shouldnt use charity to push our crowds up, im an ex seviceman who love to see QuinsRL do something like this for that cause, just like Union did.

"That wasn't a kick, the was a pass with his foot!" Brian Noble making Andrew Voss lose sleep: |

How young are we talking here? I'm 19, and have managed to convert a few of my friends to RL, because they love the matchday experience.
Targetting a few games per season with special offers perhaps at Universities would be beneficial to the club if done correctly. Cheap ticket prices, and most importantly (for students) very cheap drinks in the bar, as bait, then once they are in the game can sell itself to them.

I was thinking more 13-17 age group as this is a range where kids become hooked tell their mates etc.
