Quote: gutterfax "I've just checked some of the stats from last week. We were the only side not to break 1000 meters gained over 8 minutes and we made more tackles than anyone else. Hock and Morley between them have more first grade games than our entire squad and they are about 8kgs a man HEAVIER than us up front.
What is of bigger concern is the number of Meters Salford's backs made last week. Their pack made 664, which was 190 less than Wakefield, but their backs still made 548 off the back of this "loss" ....there pack will not lose the battle up front this week.....god help us! Salford by plenty.'"

We didn't lose the battle up front last week, it was just Wakefield had near enough 70% possession in the second half due to 7 second half penalties given away at vital times.

Individual stats added up show wakeys pack making 190 more meters than the individuals in the reds pack. Regardless of the penalty count.
My point is valid.....with less forward drive and possession Salfords backs did well....this week you'll murder us

How much of Londons dreadful play though comes from a genuine lack of understanding, this team has been thrown together and do not what each other are about. They will get beat but probably a touch less than the Widnes game, with each day comes a better understanding, with each game the strengths and weaknesses of each other will become more apparent.
Salford by plenty but a touch of patience from the fans you would hope under the circumstances.

Wakefield, Bradford and possibly widnes and castleford are the clubs we need to take points from to have a prayer of staying up.
As for the "thrown together at the last minute" the club have only themselves to blame for that......patience won't keep them up and neither will this squad. They are reaping what they have sewn

London 7 (7)

Salford 74 (36).

If Salford had an outstanding goal kicker the score would have been higher.

Tony Rea will comment: "I thought that we trained well during the week. Unfortunately our forwards were outmuscled and our halves were out thought and our outside backs were outpaced. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of improvement in this team. We are on a steep learning curve. However I am getting good vibes from the soon to arrive major signings. Better days are ahead of us."

How can Salfords pack make metres when they don't have the ball?

Almost! icon_lol.gif

No I anticipate that London will score a try and take the lead early in the first half, and then someone will kick a field goal in comical expectation of it being a close game. icon_biggrin.gif

Disappointed that john Kear said he couldn't see London winning a game this year as I am trying to get odds for that from the bookies, hope they weren't listening!

Sorry to post another negative post re this match.

Like my fellow southern hemisphere friend, Gutters, I have not seen the Widnes match but from commentary is sounded bad. I can only look at stats. We are out gunned, we are going to be out ran and out thought.

I am hoping that this will not be a cricket score, but that is what the stats are telling me.

we will lose by 60(ish).

Sorry, but the only good target I can hope for is to keep Salford below scoring 50 points.
God I feel so depressed!!

London 10 Devils 30…...then who knows what'll happen 2nd half if previous encounters are anything to go by.

Got to say gutterfaxs' honesty and clarity is quite refreshing.
I'm new to this forum and it's quite apparent that all views are aired
Not just the positive lovey dovey ones.
