| Great effort from our boys. They looked like a real rugby league team. 1st Hull try was so far forward it could have been a quarter back pass. Gower wouldn't have let the team loose the lead if he was playing, but plenty to be positive about.

Maybe so, and if winning is all that makes you happy, it was a waste of an afternoon. But I enjoyed the heart and the skill, and I enjoyed seeing both sides struggle with the conditions.

| There wasn't much to choose between the sides in the first hour, London were the stronger team and had better position and possession and we took the few opportunities we had.
A piece of individual brilliance from Dixon and a powerful run from Cook was the only difference whilst Hull didn't really threaten except with their try. A 13+ gap for London would have probably settled it, but we did not really get into their half for the last twenty minutes.
Hull Fc were definitely on top for the last 20 minutes with a lot of off-loads. dominance in position and possession and making the metres that they had not for the first hour. This was partly down to their willingness to play adventurous football, perhaps greater fitness, one or two dubious calls, tiredness and fatigue from London and fact that we had several players not able to go back on added to the tiredness.
They were also buoyed by the non-stop work from Danny Houghton at Hooker exploiting the weaker marking and the realization that we had brought on one of the weakest defenders in the competition for the last ten minutes and who they could attack non-stop - which they did, gaining two tries in the end.
Obviously you cannot be grateful with a draw when you are winning with two minutes to go, but another few minutes and I believe we would have lost, such was the momentum shift.
Two wins and a draw from March is pretty reasonable but there have been plenty of missed opportunities against the weaker teams. However I believe the competition as a whole is weaker than in the past - in fact, far weaker - with a lack of quality players from the NRL over the past two to three years and the Australians here mainly in their early 30s.
I would only say that Wigan and Warrington are a class apart from us, whilst I would have been able to add in several more names in the past, so I can see us gaining more points against the bigger clubs and maybe staying outside the bottom three. Salford are guaranteed bottom, with Koukash talking about players like Tomkins and Morley but it is all PR - he is really just signing players from Hudderfield reserves.
In the next few months Tony can start to make signings of his own for next year and release all the players that Mac and Powell signed that he doesn't want, so that will cheer us up no end, I am sure.

| Am I right in thinking the only person he was involved in the signing of this season was Tommy Lee?
Next season, should be interesting with signings then.

| Tough game, but with conditions just simple rugby, we deserved the win! but not sure why we dropped off in last 15 minutes, when Hull for a second breath? You also have to allow for some strange referee decisions, one of Hull's tries came from a pass that was as they say a mile forward and everyone in the press box saw it! then late on they were lucky to keep the ball when it was clearly ours!
Some real encouraging displays from so many players, especially the younger ones, it was so good to see Dixon to make Briscoe look a fool for his try.

Either our players aren't physically fit enough (as has been discussed on here before) or aren't mentally tough enough to finish a game like yesterday's off! True the Hull try had a mile forward pass in the build up and for 65-70 minutes we looked really good but I'm gutted we threw the game away - I can't imagine there'd be many other posters on the other clubs forums bigging up all the positives if their side had thrown a 12 point lead away in the last 10 mins!

I too enjoyed the heart and the skill, took my mind off the fact I was freezing my backside off! But we should not have thrown a 12 point lead away! Find all the positives you like in the failure to hold a lead and beat a team that were there for the taking! We should have 1 more point in our tally! What worries me is either our players aren't fit enough or aren't mentally tough enough to close out a game like that. Seeing as our next 2 games are Catalans and Wire I was hoping we could have beaten FC - 10 mins to go and that's exactly what we were doing!

It's not really bigging up! it is just trying to find some positives & more so about our own young developed players, who are improving. Not sure about other clubs forums, many supporters would not see fault if it hit them in the face about their own club!

| Maybe my expectations have simply been lowered but I thought yesterday was a good performance given the awful conditions and, although its a shame we didn't hold on for the win, a point is not a disaster.
Yes, Gower was missing and that probably hurt us, but I thought in his absence Witt stepped up and had probably one of his best games for us - he guided the team around pretty well and we didn't try and do anything fancy because it wasn't the right game for that. We got the rub of the green on a couple of the reffing calls as well so I can't see us complaining about that.
Tough set of fixtures coming up, and you wonder if a change in conditions will be beneficial or not....

Setting aside the fact that next season is the last under the current franchise so any new signings will hinge on DH personally commiting for the next franchise period on his pension (which i dont think he will do) where are these players coming from? Any first team aussies in the NRL can get more money over there with the exchange rate and new TV deal. Any marginal ones will obviously prefer to go Up North where the cost of living is cheaper as well as to stronger teams - clearly Salford want a new team so will be scrambling for any quality players from the NRL or released from a Northern club. Persuading quality Northern players to move South is a non starter as we all know. TR has got hiw work cut out!

Agree with you, that is what I expected from Witt, but he has never really delivered!

Are you refering to O'Callaghan?

| Shane Rodney had his best game for us yesterday IMO, magnificient in attack and defence. Can't disagree with much that has been written so far, a creditable effort but still disappointing that we only managed to come out with a point.

| I was a bit surprised to see Jamie O'C on the bench. Would have thought Curtis would have offered more versatility.
