| Quote: The Daddy "Didn't Powell win his first three also and we were top of the league and everyone on here was hailing him as the messiah.'"
He wasn't then nor was he ever a messiah. Unfortunately, he was a man appointed to the role that was out of his depth. That's not his fault that lays with the man that appointed him.
Tony Rea has managed more in a few weeks than Rob Powell ever was able to do with a set of players not of Rea's choosing it has to be said.
The fanciful thoughts of some who think a top grade NRL coach would ever take on this job, are just that.
As others have said on here there was no reason that the Bronco's this season shouldn't have been fighting it out for a play-off place, had Rea been appointed sooner. David Hughes loyalty to Rob Powell is to be commended but it may have been allowed to go just a little to far. In a short time with a few tweeks to players, positions and their gameday attitude Tony Rea has managed to get the players from performing as nailed on for the wooden spoon to a chance of finishing 12th. After what's gone on before that is progress albeit not a lot, but progress never the less.
I for one am an admirer of that small achievement. Clearly the real test will come in 2013-14 season. I for one can't wait to get rid of this wasted one and start the new one. Keep the faith.

| Quote: The Daddy "What the club really needed was to completely change the culture from a losing one, in my opinion Tony helped to create that culture.
Nothing that I saw before tells me that we won't be sitting here in a year or two years talking about chronic underachievement and wanting to get rid of the coach.
Lets not forget that when Brian Mcdermott came in he brought a lot of new initiatives to the club which wasn't there when Tony was coach, including training methods and youth programs, the football side of things wasn't brilliant and people on here are deluding themselves saying that Tony will bring back the good old days......what good old days?
When was this golden age that we had under Rea.......this is just a symptom of David Hughes knee jerk culture which he's created at London Broncos.......Epic Fail!!
When you change the culture of a club you have to do it in a radical way without sentiment, look at how ruthless Ian Lenaghan was with Brian Noble, in the end it was the right decision because look how Michael Mcguire completely changed everything there, that was the type of change we needed.....radical change, now I fear we've missed the boat just because we won a few games after a new coaching appointment which is normal.
Bad, bad decision.......as Marlon Brando said, 'We could've been a contender''"

| Your coaching appointment is the most important one, you must look at their track record, who they've worked with, recommendations from other coaches all of this helps you to find the best man for the job.
It's no coincidence that Ian Lenaghan was the man that gave Michael Mcguire his first coaching gig. When you think outside of the box and have a determination to succeed and use common sense you will make the right choices.
As Gutterfax stated, Lenaghan is a master businessman he sold his car in order to get his business up and running and has been a success in every field he's been in. When he went about hiring a coach he was prepared to do whatever it takes to get the right man, not ' Oh there's noone else available', or ' Tony Rea is the best we can get'.
Rea and Powell were the easiest and laziest coaching appointments they were there under our noses and we didn't even bother to look outside the box. Why I bring this thread up again is because I want to demonstrate that winning/losing is a mentality which comes from the top and if you have a strong desire to win and succeed you will but you have to make sure every decision you make is the right one, after all the coaches role is THE most important decision a club owner will make.

Mcdermott was hired by Lenaghan, what's your point?
