| Don't all laugh at once, but didn't DH state when announcing that he was in it for another 3 years, that we would be getting marketing support from the RFL?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| Quote: EHW "Boring day at work and reading through the RFL Operational Rules.
Attendances below 5,000
If for any reason a club can foresee any individual match attendance falling below 5,000 spectators, they should highlight this to the RFL Marketing department at least one month out from the fixture. The Marketing department will then work in partnership with the Club to explore all avenues to drive this attendance above the 5,000 threshold.'"

| RFL Marketing Support seems to be 'send an e-mail out on the Broncos mailing list three days before a game and see what happens'
If there was anywhere the RFL, you would think, would be able to help us, it would be better engagement with media outlets.

| I can't believe that the Broncos don't leafllet every house in the TW2 area when a home match is due. Has this been even tried?
How many local shops have posters in their windows showing who the Broncos are playing next?
What sort of coverage do the Broncos get in the local newspaper/s?

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

| As The Penguin states it would help from the RFL assisting with better media communication, it is throwing money down the drain to spend excessive on marketing when the product is not going to appeal to the paying customer and what we are producing on the pitch presently is not going to pull them in by the thousands, did the club itself not state the reason for not having a sponsor was due to several interested parties seeing how we perform?

Simon (think that was the reporter's name) used to give good coverage in one of the local papers but the main London paper (The Standard), which is allegedly our media partner ,gives us pretty much close to f**k all squared in a box!

We don't leaflet, we don't do fixture posters, BBC London TV news or "London Tonight", the ITV regional news never feature the club. The Richmond & Twickenham Times do put in reports, but when you have Media Partners in "The Evening Standard" whose coverage of the club is sweet sod all, then it kind of sums it all up really.

| Quote: jaybs "The answer is I don't know and i don't think anyone does, it would need some market research in the area we look at, but it is clear as I have said over & over again that The Stoop is not going to work for us and again as I stated clearly in the last comment we don't know if they want us, they seem currently to want to take the money off us and run! Some think I have something against The Stoop, I loved it first time around and I felt it was best we returned this time or we may have folded at that time, but it is simply not working.
I'm sure no one can deny that the attendance at the weekend was a total disgrace, it will give the northern negatives something to moan about, what is the problem, is it just that we are a losing team? the transport problems, but they seem to happen most weekends in London, where did those who came to the St Helens game all disappear to?'"
We have several years of attendance data in London. We don't need new market research to tell us that location has had no significant impact on crowds. We once had good crowds at The Stoop. Guess what, they seemed to coincide with better marketing and better results on the field.

October 2008...or around that time...read my OPUS on here, on what could be done for little or no cash outlay. We used to have a volunteer group who were prepared to door drop on Thursday evenings before home games.......not any more though...they were surplus to requirements as oyster card holders together with viral videos were seen as the future.....
.....and don't get me started on flowers on a round-a-bout either

| When the RFL did do the marketing for the game against Manly it was very effective. Mostly down to the efforts of Adey Spencer who I think is long gone. If they really want to help, they should be paying to have someone of his calibre and experience full time in London.

Started When did you ever stop going on endlessly about that and the other bits? We've all heard it over and over and over.
