Interesting article by Sky this morning, which looks at the income of Super League Clubs. O am sure there is not only Bradford with problems,
Typical Super League club
Income
TV deal £1,200,000
Gate receipts/Season tickets £1,600,000
Sponsorship/Corporate/Advertising £500,000
Retail £500,000
Others e.g Lottery £200,000
TOTAL £4,000,000
Expenditure
1st team players £1,800,000
Other players £500,000
Staff £600,000
Stadium costs £300,000
Retail costs £250,000
Other costs £450,000
TOTAL £3,900,000
Now lets try to adjust this to an approx income/expenditure for our club, is GF asleep now I wonder? Anyway our season tickets income will be much lower, same with sponsorship & advertising, and I should think lottery income will be much lower? and merchandise???
The expenditure, our staff costs may be lower? stadium costs we know approx what our landlords charge!
Just How Many clubs then in Super League will be making a profit?

I would suggest that having no coach at all is an advantage over having Powell. The Odsal faithful will at least be able to forget their troubles for 80 minutes. |

completely off topic but as you are a golfer GF....

I think we are going to get yet another absolute stuffing at poor, poor Bradford.
The situation is building nicely to its well choreographed conclusion; everyone bar a poor, poor Bulls fan can see that Caisley will arrive at the eleventh hour and save the day.
Unforeseen criticism of Nobles involvement (for the time being) now means that `Saint` Mick has returned to the fold to guide poor, poor Bradford through their darkest hour to deliver yet another thumping to the evil southerners.
With such a groundswell of sympathy and joy from the `rugby league family` and media at poor, poor Bradford being saved we will have no chance with a team that can`t push their enthusiasm beyond 20-30 minutes in any game.
I`ll go for something like 50 -8

You could not buy the level of publicity that this soap opera is providing for poor, poor Bradford. Unfortunately not too much is being mentioned or done to compensate the unpaid creditors who are the ones who have really lost out.
Joy will be unconfined when Caisley arrives and the sorry mess which has put them in this position will all be forgotten in a fortnight. No doubt their landlords, the RFL, will cut them a nice deal in reduced/suspended rent for the crater............and no doubt they will also want to contribute to all of the other clubs that have to pay ground rent.
All is well in RL land.
