| Quote Budgiezilla="Budgiezilla"Leigh's super league crowds were ok for a side that got thrashed nearly every game, and only won 2 games all season. Nice witty posts by you all, but you cannot defend some of Celtic + Harlequin's regular pathetic crowds.
Jeez, 2245 - that is truly awful, and an embarassment to Super League.
Do you think that is an acceptable crowd, how do you manage, seriously.
I await your witty respones
p.s. Yes, I know Leigh Centurions have a 5hite team, we have no chance of making the non promotion league play offs, what a shame.'"
Dude - the time for wit is over, you have been crushed in that department.
Noone is happy with the attendances - but you miss the point and that is that sometimes, about half of your crowds in that era were away fans.
It's no surprise that your big attendances were v's Warrington, Saints and Wigan as they're local derbies. It's easier to get to Hilton Park than Wilderspool from some areas of Warrington. And derbies always bring out bigger crowds. London's nearest derby side is 3 hours away.
Have a good look at these stats which tell you a clearer picture:
3,201 v's London - suspect London took 50, so you provided 3,150.
3,213 v's Wakey - they MUST have provided 200 or more, so you're still at circa (that means 'about') 3,000 or less.
When you do the estimates, you didn't appear to have many more than 3k harcore fans; which I suspect London aren't far from too. And you haven't suffered from dragging your sorry self across the city every 4 years or so to a new location.....
Keep watching from your ivory tower - I suspect you'll see the average here rise as the season progresses.

See what I mean about wit. You're about as funny as leprosy.
Quote Budgiezilla="Bradleigh"But will they manage to get 5 points like Leigh did in 2005 ????'"
I suspect they will, and I suspect their points differential will be substantially better than the -765 points you shipped (seriously, I had to check that a number of times, it was so hard to believe, got to be a SL record...!)

You are even dimmer than I thought - I talked averages in terms of attendances with some examples of where you can isolate independently how many real fans you had (i.e. v London, when practically no oppo fans turned up)
AND - minus 765 means that your oppositions scored 765 points more than you scored over the whole season.
That's not selective, it's a season average....get it?

On account of the fact that the name Jessie is of Northern origin (scottish actually, it's still north) It should be safe to assume that Thick Northerners and Northern Jessies are equal in quantity!!

| Here's a thought
lets have friendly banter but help each other out instead of fighting
Leigh Widnes etc why attack Quins it's the RFL that makes all the decisions that you don't agree with. So be a bit more supportive of the smaller clubs of which we all are really.
I mean we should all be helping each other out but all we end up doing is bicker and infight
Saints Wigan and Leeds have the biggest crowds yet even they are comparable to a 3rd tier football side.
What our game needs is a big marketing overall. Get someone in that knows what they are doing

OH BLOODY DEAR !!!!!!!!!!!'"
Ah, my little anti-expansionist monkey.
Let me tell you a quick ditty about expansionism - we live in a world of constant globalisation. And whomsoever doesn't embrace it, dies.
It's a sensitive thing to mention on the Quins board given recent events, but Sky are the biggest single benefactor of the sport. Like it or not, TV revenues drive the top sport in this day and age, look at RU, Football, Cricket, Tennis and the like.
Any sport that contracts and withers up it's own a*se faces extinction. Sky will pay less and less for a sport that can only offer competition in a narrow corridor of the country. The more global the exposure, theoretically the larger the catchment, the bigger the advertising revenue that can be generated and subsequently the larger slice of the pie the sport can ask for and give to the clubs.
So, if instead of wimpering about having yet another SL club inside a 30 mile radius, get behind the expansion clubs and give them your support - they face a hard enough task anyway!
Quote Bradleigh="Bradleigh"Poorlytoe, you are the ultimate 'selective' stactician.'"
ps - it's statistician.

| Rugby League deserves to be much popular than it is overall, not just Quins, in National League 1 (the 3rd division)very few crowds are above a 1000.
At Leigh this season, only Widnes have brought more than a 100 fans.
But it's £14 to watch Leigh in a league where there's no promotion, and we have only had 3 crowds above 2000. Haliax who play great rugby, and hardly lose, the crowds 'hover' round the 2k mark.
Only Widnes have a truly great fan base in the lower leagues. Nothing against 'expansion' clubs personally, but there doesn't seem that much genuine interest, but if you 'put' them in Super League, it would increase obviously. Even though say, 5000 is a lot more than 2245, is that a brilliant crowd anyway.
