| .......that's an average so far of 3,392.
2009 average: 3436.
didn't DICK Lewis give Quins a 'pretend' warning over poor attendances just before this season began ?

| Wakefield's average attendance this season is 6018. They have been playing at their current location for 131 years. That is 46 supporters for each year of their existence. I think we are doing alright at around the 800 mark.

| Quote: red chilli "It's a farce by the RFL that they will probably throw Wakefield out out of SL . What do The Broncos / Quins bring to SL?, your attendance at home is very poor, your away support is pathetic to say the least, your stadium is nice but the atmosphere is terrible .
I came to your stadium a couple of years ago and couldn't believe how poor your attendance and atmosphere was , speaking to people over that weekend not that many were really bothered about Quins RL and we were told that a lot of local rugby teams get free tickets to the games but don't even bother turning up.
How can your club financially support itself ?, the rumours of the RFL financially backing you and paying your coaches salary must be true ,no way can your gate pay for the running of your club, the RFL just don't want one of their wonderful expansion ideas to fail..
How can your club really justify a place in SL when traditional teams are been mugged by the RFL , i also thing P & R should be brought back .'"
Thanks for popping in.
I could explain to you that the club is losing 1.5 million a year (30k a week) and this is being swallowed by our benefactor. I could then go on to explain that we have a very british team in SL, the most british actually and we no longer have special treatment from the RFL with regard to overseas players, or even having a temporary stand errected at one end of our ground. I could probably ask you for proof that the RFL (who publish their accounts the same way we do) are giving us money, but what would be the point.
As for your wonderful graph which you essentially copied from the stats site and probably hosted on your facebook page...I have an even better table if you'd like to look at it. It shows all the crowds for London RL since 2000.....the seasons averages and lists them in the order of which team is the biggest draw. It highlights that we have terrible crowds and therefore should give you a hard on, as that seems to be the only criteria you're concerned about with regard to another club
Furthermore, I would like to applaud you for having the good sense to attack another clubs franchise worthiness after only just joining these forums. It often takes a few months to get to grips with the moods on these boards, but your keyboard prowess after only a dozen or so posts shows that you are a person with intelligence....or you just created another name to go trolling?
Your opinion has been noted and stored along with the other garbage we have had to put up with over the last 15 years from narrow minded pillox. Drive carefully now and ensure the door doesn't hit your ar'se on the way out.

I think the league should be expanded anyway. Get Toulouse and Widnes in. Look at a team in Dublin and a second London club.
then split teams into geographical divisions and have fewer but more important matches.

| Quote: nadera78 "Any championship clubs need to meet five criteria just to apply for a licence.
1) Win the NR Cup or finalist in Championship in either 2008 or 2009.
2) No insolvency over previous 3 or 4 years.
3) Minimum capacity of 10,000.
4) Turnover of at least £1million in 2008 or 2009.
5) Average attendance of 2,500 in 2008 or 2009.
If they meet the above then they'll be put against the five criteria listed earlier by gutterfax and the best one will get a spot in SL. One of the current SL clubs will make way for them because it will stay at 14 teams.'"
Championship clubs will not be put up against SL clubs, one club is guaranteed to be successful and will be told March 2011 haing applied against a deadline of december 2010. SL clubs applications will have to be submitted by April 2011 and they will be told July 2011

I didn't say they would be. The Championship clubs have to meet the first five criteria and whoever does will then be judged against the second set. The club scoring best on that set will then get a spot in SL.

| But its not the case that Championship clubs won't be "put up" with Super League clubs. There is the separate selection for the one Championship club franchise, but any club not successful in this has the right then to apply for a franchise in the main selection process.

| Quote: The Lambeth Quin "rlCould it be Quins????rl
I'm hoping for Castleford meself............................'"
Although I'm a Cas fan I hope it's not Quins because I admire the way the club have knuckled down to help build something bigger, more sustainable for RL in London/SE than a quick-fix SL product. That said it is irksome to think anyone would replace us by virtue of more modern facilities which is the criterion that proves how truly soul-less and superficial our game has become at the top level...even mega-corporate soccer draws the line at such an artificial measure of worth/potential.
I wasn't going to name a personal favourite for exclusion because of the pain that fate will cause wherever it happens but the depth and extent will obviously be infinitely less for an embryonic club. So unless Crusaders are playing everygame in S Wales and not lodging on the fringe of the heartland I feel the risk of retaining them at the expense of a club like Cas in an area which epitomises the sport and produces so many great players is too great. If Cas are kicked out the marker is down for all smalltown clubs, SL will look very much like the suits always envisaged and it may only change for SKY inspired expansion purposes.

| Quote: Dave Lister "What is with your obsession with attendances? How does the number of people turning up at our games affect anyone?'"
It's always amused me how the 'heartlands' supporters bang on and on about "away support".
I've seen then pop up here for many years, chanting their mantra about "we bring more away fans than you".
How about 2 Super League tables for these people?
We could have one, lesser, table. This could be based on a points system, with points for winning, drawing and perhaps none for losing.
Then we could have a 'proper', far more representative table with an award for "how many away fans did you bring this week?". Awards would be higher if they bought beer and burgers at the away ground. Maybe even a bonus if they came on the more expensive train, rather than the supporters coach. A man with a clipboard can count them in at the gate. Maybe a roving man could canvass the local pubs for away support, for even greater reward.I'm sure it'll catch on.

so, what you graph tells us that hkr have a mere 500 more travelling fans than catalans do? very poor in my opinion... and a far cry from the 1500 - 2000 you profess to follow your club.

I was under the impression your gate was a total of home and away fans
