| Quote: UllFC "have to say you were the weakest side to play at the KC stadium this season, even Celtic gave it more of a go
your pack was non existent, where you missing a few? or is that your first choice set of forwards? its just the team looked small, and Hull aren't the biggest team in the competition.
it was just a complete non performance, which is strange considering Quins usually give a dogged, determined performance that has undone Hull many times in the past.'"
and again we persisted with the same tired selection we have used in the past weeks............ what is the point of having young players in the squad if you don't use them?
Tonight on SKY - Huddersfield played a number of their youth players due to injuries - and pushed Saints to the final whistle
Tonight Harlequins played all their younger players in a nothing Reserves match - which they won.
Shame about the first team though

We all could say that!
To be fair, you didn`t look like breaking us tonight. Our defence seemed up for it,something we could not say often this season.Usually ,the Quins give us a seeing off,and I feared the worse before the game.'"
Thats the problem- we have been in a number of games where we have gone toe to toe and lost. I understand the philosophy of defence first which clearly is McDermotts strategy(just look at the type of player he buys) but you have to have attacking options and we have none. And I mean none. I have not seen a set attacking move in 3 months. You can talk me through any try you want that we have scored in recent times and it will be individual skill, a mistake or a chance option.
I was watching Salford last week and when they were attacking you could see they weren't set up to score. They were bunched, flat etc we are just the same. Sometimes when we get close we end up going backwards and hand the ball over further away from there line. Its a good job Howell can jump and catch cross field kicks or we would be in a bigger mess.
We are rubbish-full stop. For me the desire to attack finished when we played Hull at home. That day we kicked the ball dead possibly 10 times. From that day on(successful day) we have reverted to a dull, wear down(come and score from 80 yards) style of play and it hasn't worked. We are the Grinders!! as prof Cullen calls us.

Good points well made. This now seems obvious to everyone except the coaching staff. We aren't going to break down any defence if all our players stand flat and then catch the ball standing still.

| Why was Clubb in the reserves given he's one of the few players who actually gives us some go forward? I usually defend BM, but it's in danger of getting beyond a joke now, a bit like the later phases of TR's reign when his squad selection became a bit too eratic for its own good.

(Though there is one move where Danny Ward takes the ball at first receiver, spins round and passes it to Danny Orr.)
There's the kick from the base of the scrum for Dorn to run on to. Worked a couple of times early in the season with Purdo kicking. Didn't we try it once against Salford but Dorn got nowhere near it?
No need for any of that now that we've perfected our non-defensive moves out on our right flank. We have a few: Missing tackles, running out of the line, going missing completely, watching the oppostion admiringly, furiously waving at others to tackle but doing nothing yourself, ...

BM dropped Clubb, Clubb? Why Clubb? Their is probably half the team that deserved dropping more than Tony, its a bloody joke.

You are wrong - he gives us 'go sideways' he is the reincarnation of the legend Henderson Gill (without the speed or 'bit of a boogie').

Or Gary Mercer. Its a shame really as he makes a decent impact when going forward.

| Quote: steve@code13 "Two Players charged, to players with warning letters and its not us!
"Two Hull FC players have been referred to Tuesday’s meeting of the RFL Disciplinary Committee after being charged with foul play during last weekend’s engage Super League Round 25 fixture against Harlequins.
Scrum-half Jordan Tansey has been charged with a Grade C dangerous throw on Harlequins winger Jon Wells in the seventh minute at the KC Stadium on Friday night.
Second row Danny Tickle has also been charged with a Grade C dangerous throw, on Harlequins full-back Chris Melling in the 10th minute.
Both players were referred to the Disciplinary Committee by the RFL Match Review Panel.
Two other Hull players, Lee Radford and Sam Moa, have received warning letters, Radford for raising his knee while in possession of the ball and Moa for running into a melee."'"
And if Bent'un had had the courage to deal with it on the pitch also by giving them 10 minutes it could have made a difference. We went to Hull - never again! - awful atmosphere in the very full ground and not a friendly face to be seen. We were devoid of ideas but Purdo, Louis, Melling and Dorn all earned their corn. Dorn kicked well to get us out of trouble a few times but the forwards just weren't! And why did B Mac spend all the game standing on the touchline? The dugout is not that far from the pitch. He looked the picture of misery. Billy Peden and the others were having to run round him each time they needed to get on the pitch. Maybe they were too busy thinking what they were going to do with all the time off they've got now til training before the Cas game.

As I said on another thread there were 18 of us in the corner of the North Stand. In fact I think the only 18 who paid to get in out of the 4,000 or so people in the stand, who got in courtesy of free vouchers in the local press. Certainly it wasn't a great experience and obviously we didn't have a great deal to shout about.

He gives us far more go forward than Gafa, and Gafa has been truly shocking in defence the last couple of times I've seen him.
