| There is absolutely no confidence on the TWP forum that the stadium will be available for our game against them.
Fletchers field is apparently their only option. The RFL will not sanction playing games where the goals are the fork type as used in American Football.
Access, facilities and parking are said to be, not good. The capacity at 3200 is said to be pushing it. Sell outs expected at all games played there.
We shall have to see how things transpire.

| Bosty have you looked at fletchers field on the web? It has a single temporary build type stand, pretty large, but typical of small school college type pitch in N America. Currently there is no fencing around what looks to be the main pitch, it will be interesting to see how they address that, the Canadian RU national team have played their so they must have some plans for crowd control in place.
Not got a problem with TWP using an alternate venue, at least it’s still in Canada, decent notice has been given for the Swinton game, just hope for the London fans wanting to travel they announce it early so folk can plan, although it scuppers the plans of staying in the city and public transport to the game.
Was it Hunslet many years ago that had American football type sticks for a couple of seasons? New rules on dead ball does mean that you cants use them

| Yes, Hunslet did have that style of posts for a while.
Have to say I don't think I'm going to Toronto now. Prices for flights etc will be silly by the time they confirm at this rate. If it's a full 3G pitch install I'll be surprised if they do it in time for our game.
I was supposed to be going with Oxford last season but family issues scuppered that. The pitch this season. Next season perhaps....

| The American Football fork goals centre post arcs forward from behind the line. Hunslets were straight. The arc is the issue with regards to Rugby League.

| My issue with playing at Markham is the access. Public transport gets you at best to within 2km of the ground. You need to take a taxi from there.
The recommendation is that it is more practical to hire a car. Where you are going to park it if you are saying downtown I do not know.
I have to agree Fletchers Fields facilities seem somewhat lacking.

Crikey I remember seeing those Hunslet posts on BBC2 Floodlit Rugby League in the 1970s. It was that and the BBC coverage on Grandstand that got me into the game as a schoolboy in the 1960s and 70s,.

| As a kid I watched those games Saturday afternoon games on grandstand with my dad. Often with it being in black and white and played in winter you could hardly tell which team was which. Despite my dad telling me what a great game it was.
Only when rugby league came to Maidstone that I realized how right he was. Never looked back.

| Just watching Toronto playing Dewsbury, Robert Hicks is the referee. Pulling out all the stops for them are the RFL.

| On TV they are promoting the Halifax game at Skolars. The Laporte Stadium situation is a cock up. This game should be played in Canada.
If they wanted to play in London, we should have had a double header at Trailfinders. The game could have followed our Dewsbury game and it could have become a festival of Rugby. Something to promote, which could have benefitted the whole game.

| Apparently this game is being played in the UK under instruction from the RFL don’t think the lamport stadium issue has anything to do with it! Toronto were instructed by the RFL that they had to play one of their homes games here, don’t think the Toulouse game was taken into account. I have no link just word of mouth info
