I can see our fans base deciding they might as well support the local option. Unfortunately how many live within a few miles of Barnet or wherever the next move will take us.

You already see familiar faces from The Valley, Griffin Park and Stoop at Skolars, Oxford and Hemel. Some watch both Broncos and a League 1 team but some have already been lost to Broncos. Sadly many more appear to have been lost to the sport.

I don't think the fact you haven't had personal letters begging you to come back is a sign that DH doesn't care about his club. More likely that as ever, there is limited personnel at LB and admin has never been their forte.

Anyone that sees and talks to DH at every game will testify to the fact that he very much cares about this club (and surely it is reasonable to suggest that anyone who has spent 10m plus of his own cash is probably bothered).

I think a lot of our lapsed fans are lapsed because it doesn't suit them to travel to The Hive or they don't want to watch Champ RL or they're fed up with supporting a hopeless cause (fair enough!)

I think the comment was in respect to him not caring about losing fans rather than about the club in general. If he did care about growing the fan base then he would surely have directed some of his 10m towards that but he never really has show much evidence of it.

I have no doubt that DH cares about the club, as shown by the millions he has spent propping it up.
I also have no doubt that he is a terrible decision maker and man manager.

I subscribe to the ezine so I get them to but it is a terrible indictment not to contact your lapsed fan base. It ain't difficult with a database and email FFS! I went to watch Ireland v Australia in the World Cup at Thoman Park and get regular emails from Munster Rugby, I have been to NFL games at Wembley, same thing, I have been to the races at Sandown Park, guess what?

I'm hearing something untoward may have occurred at Leigh with regards to 'substances'. Not sure what the level of truth is so certainly not hanging my hat on it.

Less than 10% of his substantial investment in the club since 2008 has been spent on either retaining or attracting fans to games. Now he doesn't care if anyone turns up, because he gets nowt anyway.....he's managed to halve his annual investment in the club, which is fantastic news for him and the 500 remaining fans. The 3,500 who we've lost since 2007 are worth a hypothetical 70k a game.....but Hughes doesn't care. He gets to watch HIS team and feel less guilty about how he cut the clubs throat in 2013.


A fair assumption, but surely it would be better to actually ASK THEM DIRECTLY. PP is a lapsed ST holder, basic CRM would dictate that it would be easier and cheaper to get him back than to try and attract a new fan.

As for Hughes caring. I never said he didn't care about the club......I said he doesn't care about the number of fans who pay to attend games. He hasn't a clue how to run a professional sports business and what made it worse that after Paul Brown "left" Hughes employed others that didn't know what they were doing either.
