1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

| Quote: Tre Cool "You only ever like to use evidence that confirms your pre-conceived idea about the RFL. What about the best World Cup ever (no debate) and the best ever new TV deal (no debate)? They aren't perfect but the RFL deserve some credit for recent achievements and this type of constant criticism is childish.'"
The best ever World Cup? yes it was good, but that was down to Sally Bolton, even if one other guy tried to take all the credit. The Best ever deal, it is for 8 years, I am with Ian Lenegan and Dr Koukash, it was completely wrong how much short notice was given to accept the deal, The CEO is supposed to be there to serve the clubs! why was it never put out to tender first, to see what BT would offer? what will the sum accepted be worth in real terms in 8 years time? Perhaps I could say, you constant defence is, but I won't! it is your opinion, I am all now for Super League Clubs taking over control themselves, and No the CEO or Chairman must not be on that new board.

| Might have been interesting if Leneghan hadn't have displayed his obvious lack of a pair and voted no, same for the others now voicing "their concern". 'Effin' hypocrites!
If they'd have voted no, well they might have got a better deal or they might have lost Sky as a broadcaster (a risk they were clearly too petrified to take).
(Edited as I was under the impresssion Koukash had also voted yes, which in fairness, he hadn't). My bad!

| It seems strange that clubs were only allowed between 24 hours and 2 hours to accept the deal. That is one if the reasons Ian Lenagan said later he regretted saying or voting to accept!

| Koukash's background no doubt makes him a tough street fighter but somebody should explain to him that when the voting against you is 13-1, you've lost.
Perhaps we can now get this thread back on topic? It's about the "New Sky Deal & the Broncos".

Fair enough.
Probably means that from 2017 top 12 will get 1.8 mil and bottom 12 will get about 900k.......so with 2015/16 on the old money, the Broncos can expect to lose 700k+ a year for 2 years in SKY funding before clawing back 300k of it.
The above is based on relegation this year. If you believe we'll stay up, then use your own calculator

Avoidance of relegation also unlikely unless the Bulls and A.N.Other go t*ts up this year.

| Broncos need a competitive squad to be successful in attracting more fans. So the question might be one of how much would cost in the future to have a such a squad. If changes are made to salary cap or the mooted "marquee" player arrangements then it is possible that the increased TV income would be consumed by increased costs.

| I love all this "The clubs were only given 24hrs to decide", err, in a negotiation you can take as long as you like, the clubs could have refused and don't be letting the Lenghans of this world tell you they couldn't.
And before anyone attempts to lecture me, I haven't always worked on the Tube, before that I was a "Negotiator" in an Estate Agents and before that I ran my own small business, if someone puts a time limit on anything, you call their bluff, it's virtually standard practice!
