| Another profoundly depressing result! Had hoped for, nay expected a win to set us up nicely for the 2 upcoming home games - starting to wonder if it's worth bothering unless there'e a change of coach. Haven't felt this fed up with the club in a long, long time!

| Well, back in London now after a very enjoyable weekend up north reliving the student days. In a way I had a very enjoyable time at the game as well; As I said to Paddock at the time, there is something grimly fascinating in watching a team unravel.
I'm going to try and keep some perspective (I think some of the comments have been a bit hyperbolic since sunday lunchtime) but I don't really see how Powell can continue as Head Coach. Like the players, I can only assume his self-confidence and his belief in doing his job must be shot after a day like yesterday.
After previous defeats, we have, in a way, defended Powell by saying that certain individuals were underperforming and not doing x, y or z well enough. Well yesterday, near enough an entire team were inept to say the least, and the only conclusion that can be drawn is that it is a collective failing. That is the Head Coach's responsibility - he simply isn't capable.
The team sheet is filled with good players. NRL Grand Finalists. Internationals. Experienced pros on big salaries. Promising youngsters. Widnes....well with the greatest respect, theirs isn't. Conceding 38 points against them is unhelpful; Not completing a single play-the-ball in the first 10 minutes was downright embarrassing.
I could spend all day listing the things that are wrong that it seems clear Powell can't fix. The halfback combination isn't working (Witt being more at fault); Choices with ball in hand are poor; Our last tackle kicking still isn't right; We're porous defensively; We test referees' patience lying on (Silverwood was very lenient on this yesterday); Sarginson and Dixon, who have played a handful of SL games between them, are the only players seemingly capable of breaking the line; Some of our forwards look out of condition. The list goes on and on.
We noticed the U20 squad were sat watching the game away to our left following their match earlier. If Powell is retained, my worry (one of many!) is the message it sends them - that this is a club prepared to tolerate people who don't really belong, who play and coach in a consistently substandard fashion. That such talented players can look so incoherent for 80 minutes and it can be accepted. Some of those boys must have looked that the truly awful first half display and wondered 'is that something I want to be a part of?'. I don't think I would. Sarginson is probably the most talented youth product I've seen in London colours and we run the risk of losing him if this carries on.
Deeply, deeply worrying. If Powell continues I have no faith in his ability to turn it around.

| It amazes me that Shaun Edwards and Peter Gill were considered not good enough a few years back as they had no coaching experience. Shaun Edwards must be wetting himself laughing. COuld we remove Gower from the playing staff and put hjim on the coaching staff, people on here said he is furious with the way things are so could he be used elsewhere? This would leave room for Hickey to come into the team - we can dream. I,ve got a really horrible feeling we could have Powell till the end of franchise. After all they could have a team for a further two years, a franchsise for a further two years just no fans to watch apart from away fans.

Too little too late.....
The abject performances in all games except against a poor Castleford and an out of sorts Wigan, are a reflection on either him not being able t coach or the squad not wanting to listen....either way, HE HAS TO GO NOW!

Gilly has just stopped his role at the Titans U20s this season.
