Quote: jaybs "All round a much better performance than last season, just wish we could have had one more real competitive friendly for all the new players to gel together and that may have made that difference yesterday. Really impressed with the pack, it has been a lightweight part of our game recent seasons. Parts of the media had doubts about Gower but he was superb just hope he can keep it up and really influence the side. Agree with everyone that we are a little weak in the centres at present, just trust we can improve as the season progresses.

If the weather had been better and not so much doubt about the game going ahead, not everyone has the net we may have attracted more than 5,000. I feel those who did attend will not be too disappointed and will come back again.

I'm glad to see Anyone back supporting the London Broncos whoever they are and however long since they last watched us, Warm Welcome Back! I will take anyone who is willing to support us as new supporters and returning supporters!'"
Problem is- they weren't willing to support us.

I'm not bothered if someone did not support us for a while or if they are new o the club and game, we need every supporter we can get!

Good match report and photo's in the Mail on Sunday;

Thought the game was 50/50 for the most part but good to see our forwards looking like a tight unit and good signs for the weeks ahead.

How can we have a go at folk who have re appeared after a few years not watching the team, Are we now saying our crowd increase can only be NEW supporters, strewth!!!
There are probably folk out there who decided nope I dont want to be asociated with HARLEQUINS but now we are back to Broncos are happy to come back
SO WHAT. The import thing is they have come back, its called bums on seats

Welcome one and all I say, and for those that have come back after a few years off, hope you were pleased with what you saw

Lots of positives from yesterday, were it not for 2 handling errors near the Saints line in the 2nd half we might have won. Defensively we still have a lot of work to do, Saints had us CTFR'ed several times, Roby was outstanding I thought.
For us I thought Kafusi did well, Gower and Witt show signs of being a great half back partnership, Dixon didn't seem overawed. We might well play worse than yesterday but go on to win games . Fair size crowd (5k) and great to be back as London! Anyone got a comment on Mr Hick's display?

Couple of strange decisions by the Ref and the explaination of the Robertson penalty would be interesting.

I thought he went OK. Let the game flow to be fair to him. He spanked us at the Capital Challenge.

Dorns one on one missed tackle (Last line of defence) was a shocker. Not a chance in this world would there runner have got through Wellens in similar circumstances

Didn't understand the Robertson penalty but apart from that not much to say on the ref.
I'm usually a big fan of dorn but for me he was our weak link yesterday. Hope its just an off game or due to weather or whatever but the second try scored from a one on one break dorn should have got him down, and his error then pass to Dixon across the posts was heart stopping!
Very impressed with our pack, it was one of the best forward displays I have seen from our team, and is all very encouraging for the season. It's a tough start to the season, I don't expect to win at wire next week either but seeing how we go against two quality sides in the first two games is a great test and should set us up for the 'easier' games when they come later in the season.

We switched off in defence a couple of times. Need 100% focus every game no matter how good you are. A bit more desire to do the less enjoyable parts of the game and we would've (or 'would of' as seems to be the RLFans correct grammar) won it. Maybe some of the new boys weren't made aware of Roby's uniquely annoying abilities.

Some people have supported QuinsRL readily, some through gritted teeth, some couldn't bring themselves to do it at all. Folks are different, that's a fact. The more who now support the Broncos the better, whatever their recent history.

As I walked back to the car there was a bloke behind me with two youngsters
"Did you enjoy it"
"Yes dad"
"Do you want to come again" (he obviously enjoyed it) icon_biggrin.gif
"YES DAD"

Three more bums on seats, that's what a good performance can do!

Good to see such a positive thread on here, seems a while since we had one icon_thumb.gif

Me too, brought bro in law, he'd never seen an RL game before (and I mean never!) footie fan that could never get along with RU and enjoyed it and will be back.

Amusingly he had no idea where st Helens was, also thought it was funny but good that fans of a sports club chanted London. He typifies how hard it is for us as a club but how we definitely have the product if we could just have some success.
