Friends in St Helens complain about having to travel to Langtree Park and all parking is on Council pay car parks, a few are being Stubborn and saying they will not Go! but I know they will!!!
Just wonder how many of our Loyal fan base live in Twickenham???'"
I walk to the Stoop.

But how many do you think do walk? is it 50% of our 3,000 base or 70& or 10% or less and with a ground with good transport connections and close to the tube would it be more, we just can't survive on our current supporter base that is fact.

Not really sure what point you are trying to make but London is a big place. I doubt that a significant proportion of fans have been locals within walking distance wherever we have played.

My only point jbuzza is that someone raised it as a negative of ever leaving The Stoop as we would lose all our loyal base, which I feel is not accurate as our loyal supporter base must come from a larger area than any club in Super League. Yes London is a big place and people walking up may use public transport. One day the decision may be our to make as a club, it may be down to our Landlords and their demands.

| I don't so much believe the location is he big factor, it is more the stadium itself. The Stoop's a great rugby stadium which fits our needs perfectly. We'd be mad to leave.

It's not going to be happening overnight, while I accept what you say, but I would not say it is a great rugby stadium, it is okay but so typical union, location is important I feel especially for transport as we are always going to rely on broad supporter base rather than just local. We have had this debate before whenever we have moved, any club in the north would see the same reluctance, but I still say the choice in the end may not be totally ours as a club and this will be the problem as long as we are tenants and answer to a landlord, owning a stadium or co-owning can make extra income streams which to survive all clubs need.

So what about a stadium would made it particularly ideal for rugby league ?

I personally think rugby league blends itself more to a compact stadium, Langtree Park at St Helens is looking ideal, 18,000 capacity may not be adventurous but is it more realistic for them, completely closed in. The Stoop is more open as many union stadiums are, they were first built more for the social side more than being a stadium, granted Quins have worked hard with their developments over recent years.
But it is not really the ground that is the most important Factor for the future, it is the tenant situation, I don't think we can survive that way forever, also travel connections have to be first class so we can draw on fans from across London and not just the local area. St Helens have gone for different suites so the stadium can be used for weddings, events and also business meetings, plus many of the new grounds go for community use every week of the year, that is why Widnes have gone for the new plastic turf, I hope that works, that way the pitch can be used all the time and local councils will then get involved in assisting with costs. Leeds have rooms for Leeds Carnegie Uni in their new stand. It is not moving for the sake of it, it is to ensure a future and to be involved with the community.

Was a coincidence though - although only really started going regularly when they were at Brentford - was a season ticket holder at the London Knights Ice Hockey club and they had around 40 home games a year ( they also played the other end of London so travel wasn't the issue - just having enough free time - ) and didn't fancy adding too many hikes across the capital when Broncos played at Charlton.
Went a couple of times a year when they played there but not much more - my folks were STH back then, sitting behind Britney'"
And you have the audacity to accuse others that don't travel to Lancs/Yorks You're just making it too easy

Um wasnt actually a fan then, just a casual who watched the big northern sides come down occassionally and was already making 40 trips from Richmond to Crossharbour for the hockey. plus the odd away trip, still made it it to two or three games down at Charlton.
So the point being that fans would be willing to hike across London for 13 games - as opposed to the 50 odd trips I was doing - stands.
What that has to do with our dreadful support only you can explain

No, our footprint in the town is almost negligible.

It's an awful stadium, that walkway in front of the stand sucks the life out of the place

"That wasn't a kick, the was a pass with his foot!" Brian Noble making Andrew Voss lose sleep: |

| The stoop is great not perfect. Too far away from the pitch, a bit out of central London. At least orient has a proper London postcode too
