Loftus road is a non-starter....horrible area and for the umpteenth time.....aussies/kiwis are a small area of the target market.....
If it where up to me.....Fulham! Started there......and if it's going to "fail" then why not back there!

"That wasn't a kick, the was a pass with his foot!" Brian Noble making Andrew Voss lose sleep: |

| Fulham would be awesome but while they are in the premier league withstand current owner they have no need for us.
Though I would have never predicted they build a statue of Michael Jackson outside the cottage either l, so stranger things have happened!

| Reading the League Express letters this morning seems someone else had the idea of moving to Millwall. I think Millwall was thought about years ago when they moved into the New Den and wanted to have concerts and such like on.

It's a 'horrible area' with the best transport links of any stadium in London. Central Line, Hammersmith and City Line, London Overground, dozens of bus routes all within 5-10minutes walk, and Piccadilly Line a touch further. TV Centre, Westfield, some of the best pubs and restaurants in town. And god-knows how many businesses based within a five mile radius. Yes, Loftus Road is the last place in London you would want to base a team.
Fulham on the other hand has little public transport, is nearly impossible to park nearby, and is surrounded by rich people who'd fight against the club playing evening matches, or any matches at all come to that. In fact, I think Fulham themselves have had trouble with them in the past.
Anyway, I shouldn't rant because neither option will ever come about. Neither club needs the money (what's a couple of hundred grand to them?) or, frankly, the bother of dealing with a team playing in front of 2,000 fans.

| Fwiw, I'm v pro Stoop, and don't think it's half the millstone it's made out to be on here. However, the talk seems to be of a move and I was surprised the Den was never suggested despite the drawbacks that others have pointed out.

London Broncos looked at Leyton Orient before the football club redeveloped their ground, and in my opinion it is now a modern ground that offers everything the Stoop does and allows the rugby league club to find an identity for itself once again.
www.leytonorient.com/page/Matchr ... 39,00.html
In my opinion it is a modern stadium that offers a top rate matchday experience, a massively redeveloped transport system, an area that is not Twickers, a football club that would probably be interested in an additional revenue stream, a return to North London and out of the suburbs, a connect to the sports promoter Barry Hearn who is the Leyton Orient chairman, the buzz from the Olympics and all of the new housing in the local area.
I could go on, but the theme is that virtually everything that is good about being at the Stoop could be had at Brisbane Road, and we have a chance to build upon solid foundations and the same principles that saw us become Harlequins RL and did look to be growing, slowly, but it really does seem now that there is little interest from the immediate area of the suburbs in South West London and unless there is a Lenagan type investor we should look to move to a new stadium at the earliest convenience.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

The LSV looks like is has definitely got the blueprint for their main stand from the same architect who built the main stand at Brisbane Road.

IT DOES HAVE A BLOODY TRAIN STATION on a line from central london, it has decent road link what else can we ask for?
Take us to Saaaarf London! and its a nightmare to get to, take us to North London what do we gain? smaller stadium! the stoop is a marvelous stadium why oh why do we want to move
Look at the spread of our fan base! take it to millwall coz it workign class! errr why would hard core football supporters suddenly decide to watch football
Madness this thread'"
