Nope, I don't. You said......
Quote: jaybs "You start to think if it is worth posting these days as only one sided comments seem to be allowed or you just get abused.
Why can there be open debate as we are all concerned about the future of Our Club London! sweeping everything under the carpet will not resolve or ensure our future in Super League.'"
So on this thread in particular where Rupe is questioning the signings announced already, which is being fairly openly debated as far as I can see, I would like to know what your point is....unless of course you don't have one relative to the topic under discussion and are just making some random point?

Wells has scored 0 tries this season. How could any winger be worse unless they started dropping the ball deliberately?
Matt Gardner is dreadful as well. Of course he is a Harlequins player as well.

Homer,
All I ever ask if for constructive open debate, we are never going to all agree all the time, but does it always need sarcasm?
There is always a feel from the few, ever seeming to want no criticism of The Club, but that is in fact negative and does as much damage as the posters you and others knock all the time.
We are never going to compete as a Super League Club unless we get more funds incoming into the club, what is happening with IL's shares? the two years he was allowed to sell is up in October! No wonder the club is so unsettled, does anyone know what the future holds?
We are not building any more supporter base. is it just because we are perceived as a losing club? or are people just not interested in RL, that did not seem to be the case last time around at the Stoop as The Broncos.
It hurts me to see what is happening to Our Club, today's match just seems so typical, biggest defeat for the season and nilled. Contact with the club and a lot of its supporters seems Nil! - just knocking each other is not going to help the case, I have see too many good loyal supporters leave, we need everyone we can find!
Brian Mac has to take some of the current blame, I have said that openly, I asked if it was his background as a player and perhaps his Marine career, but no one responded. We have some good young players coming through and some who have come through, but if I was one of them I would be thinking if I want to make money and succeed in RL is it in London.
Let's just Hope we can find a Simon Moran, it is that type of investment we need, but will we?
John

John,
I fear you are wasting your time. The posters on here refuse to ever say that most of our squad is not good enough for Super League when it is patently obvious. Our recruitment is absolutely shocking, why do we ever not look at bringing in any of the PNG players for example?
I am sure most of those on here are clapping the players off as i type, fully unaware that their blind cheerleading and refusal to stand up and condemn what is going on is hastening the death of Super League rugby in London.

| I just take so much stick in my home town St Helens, why have I supported London since that first Fulham game? but I don't go for glory and winning clubs (I would not have been supporting West Ham even longer) but we need always to be honest about Our Club or the future will not be bright.
We have some good players, but something is wrong and it has got to be put right, otherwise and I don't like to say or admit it, survival will become a serious problem. But no way will I ever walk away.

Oddly it wasn't a sarcastic request for clarity, it was and still is an honest question when this board is viewed as it has been lately with "genuine" [i.e none alts] known posters such as Lister and GF who knock the club, constructively or not & have created debate. There has been more criticism of the club on here this season than I have ever seen before, 99% of it totally unmoderated, and those posters have been accused of doing more damage to he supporter base than the squad or coach.
However there is a massive difference between constructive criticism/ debate/alternate suggestion and deliberate trolling/fishing for reaction from starting a thread such as this. Rupe offers nothing to a debate, never has, never will, all he does is knock [check his post profile for the past 2 years if you are bored] yet never offer realistic [key word in his case] alternatives or suggestions. So he will always be treated with whatever is the desired response from nearly everybody who replies, that's what trolls want and get.

No and as communications are few and far between and the general theme from the club appears to be " all is well" I guess we never will..........however they need desperately to understand the simple point that gates are falling for a whole raft of reasons both on and off-field.
Quote: jaybs "

I don't think any one thing is the root cause, but personally I think the part in bold is fundementally key in the South in terms of keeping interest or making the sport part of the fabric of the community/psyche.

I don't know the answer, it could well be part of it, but his time surely is close to an end? The stats this season at home will have IMO done more damage than any other single factor.

Still waiting for your assessment of recent performances by Esders and Wilkes, rupe.

1. How do you know we haven't?
2. How do you rate the performances (to SL standards) of those recruited by Sheffield for example?

Whereas those who sit on their s in front of a keyboard are supporting Super League rugby in London to the hilt.
Thanks, rupe. I had a thoroughly depressing afternoon at the Stoop today. But, hey, it only cost me 7 hours and 190 miles, whereas you've obviously had a whale of a time and it's cost you nowt. I still think I must be happier than you though because I've been watching some rugby league.

| Homer, Thanks! Perhaps then we are just about on the same side!
The difference may be how little it gets to me, others personal opinions about Our Club, some posters I just read and ignore.
I just wish I was still in the same position as years ago, to put regular money into the club, if my personal circumstances do change I will again, but this time I would need some assurances of our direction and business plan as a Club.
No way can we allow the failure of a London RL Club, I know it is something many Northern clubs supporters would wish, but that demonstrates how clearly they are so parochial when it comes to development, expansion and more important the future of our game.
David Hughes has been a saviour of Our Club for so long, but he so badly needs someone who can make a major cash injection along side him, if we are going to survive or otherwise when it comes to the next licence application process we are in deep water.
It terrifies me what will happen, when if ever Sky TV/Murdock decide to pull out of the game, all the money pumped into the game over all these years, in many cases has been wasted with the increased salaries of players, who will have a shock awakening, or will we lose the best ones to union? 67,000 at Twickenham on Saturday, when we struggle to get just above that figure for a Challenge Cup Final, then the RL issue press releases immediately after saying book your tickets for next season while you can! does everyone have their heads in the sand?
Often the game seems like a rudderless ship!
