| Quote: northernbloke "Think really the discussion is focussing on the wrong thing.
If Toronto win next week and they go up, they have the financial backing, they have the support of the RFL, they have a stadium that can handle 9000 fans, they have a playing surface that is all weather. They have the ambition. They have a core squad signed. They are pulling gates of decent numbers
The sad fact is, and don’t forget I am actually a broncos fan.
If we win next week, and I hope we do, But!
Not sure we have the financial oomph! Not sure the RFL give a damn about RL in London anymore (I am involved in community level Rugby remember), even if Trailfinders could get a second New temporary stand, for SL Vallis road is not great and capacity would be 4000ish max.
We have a core fan base of maybe 400.
How many contracts signed for next year?
How keen are the club to actually go up, and spend the money needed to stay up?
Do I want us to win next week? Of course I do! Out of the 2 set ups of us and Toronto who is in better position to go up though?'"
Not trolling pleased your back.Think we'd all agree potential for RL in London is massive but doesn't appear to be realised. What development takes place in areas such as Streatham/Brixton ,schools etc?

| Great performance and result.
What is the rule these days where a defender strips the ball from an attacker as he goes over the try line?

Josh Mccrone:
"I have to be careful what I say ... but full credit to London."
"It is incredibly frustrating; we crossed the line four times and they didn't cross once but we still came up short on the scoreboard," McCrone said.
www.espn.com.au/nrl/story/_/id/2 ... fpack-loss
The Akers tackle was so obviously late and there was contact with the head, it was a red card. The penalty that got them second shot at goal (which then missed) was never a shoulder charge. Refereeing was over all good but if anything they got the rub of the green.
I just re-watched Toronto vs Warrington highlights - the Toronto team really is/was a nasty piece of work. People are suggesting that Brian McDermott will go there and clean things up, but I think lying cheating scum like Akers and the other thugs on their team are beyond hope.

| I feel so sorry for McCrone. It really was not fair of London to spoil his season by beating his team and stopping them getting promotion.
I believe that TWP, having beaten us twice at home assumed we would just roll over and surrender. How deluded they were.
They are as Garry Schofield says a bunch of journeyman. Further they tried to bash their way to Super League and failed.
Still the Championship is where they stay and they will have to try and get promotion. Promotion I think they will find 2019 season quite a bit harder than this season. It will be interesting if Brian Mac goes there.
Anyway they were gracious in defeat, even if it was through gritted teeth.

Jumpers for goalposts......you forgot that
I remember giving Rusty 3 of the beers in my 3rd bucket in "stripes'.....my old lady was less than impressed that I rocked home at 9pm....I lived 20 yards from the ground!!!

Its a pity its RL and not American football. Right continent wrong sport, enjoy Batley, Fev and Bradford next year.

I highly recommend the Progressive Rugby League podcast this weekend, which covers the Million Pound Game and gets the analysis bang on (other than the bit about us not lasting > 1 season in the Super League). They discuss the article I linked to above and the garbage journalism.
