Would be a real shame to see Joe leave but he clearly has the potential to make it at SL level. Which is a level we're unlikely to be playing at in the near future.

Indeed and given our lack of halves - Keyes, Barthau and Leatherbarrow - concerning. Unless Hendo has something up his sleeve, like a Godinet or Sammut, an experienced half.

He has great potential, but is a long way from the finished article. its just a rumour, so not sensible to speculate, but if there is any truth we would need to find a replacement asap as half back is a clear weakness for us.

If he is going you would think (hope) Hendo has known for some time and is making arrangements accordingly

SL clubs are back in training! Why has it taken so long to pick up a young kid on a measly wage???

Heard Hendo doesn't fancy him but DH wanted him kept. They wouldn't even let him gain experience at Skolars.

If the comment about the coach a downer are right slightly worried. He has huge potential. Was brilliant at Dewsbury in the play of game, but needs to tighten defence and mature. Would be surprised if Henderson didn't want him? For once, at the risk that Cowgirl will brand me an apologist, I am with the owner (if rumour has any truth)

He is attending a club business event tomorrow which would indicate to me that this is all just a fabricated story.

I take it the club still dish those up in honour of Gus.

It might be more that yes he does have the potential but the coach isn't convinced that unless he bucks his ideas up that he'll make the most of that potential.

With the signing of Eliab, opportunities for Joe might be limited. But as with Oscar Thomas he is not going to be first choice wherever he goes, so he might as well stay here and fight for his place.
Also, with next years pack he might find playing half back a whole lot more comfortable
