as against.......

I make no bones about this....from 12,000 miles away and for the right money, I'd turn the season around off the park. It's a number of things......not just my favourite bit......but I'd be worth every penny!
BTW!
....why would I applaud ripping off a tourist?
Would that be about R E P E A T business?........
thought not!
Stick to running water onto the park.....at least the players appreciate it

| GF How can you judge whether it is value for money or not when you have never seen or experienced the hospitality available. The food has been well cooked and enough of it not to go hungry, it is not pasta and coffee. Waiting staff are very plesant and service is with a smile. Tea and coffee when you want it, you are able to sit in comfort both inside and out and have a chat over a cuppa at half time or between games when U20 play. Maybe not so important to sit in comfort in the summer but during the cold winter games it is bliss to be inside till the last minute and be able to watch the U20 through the window in the warm or just read your free programme. There is a cash bar for people to use. Some people appreciate being able to chat with the players available in there - it doesnt bother me one way or the other. but the whole experience is enjoyable. You can chat with David HUghes and you can mingle in pleasant surroundings with like minded people. It depends whether you think the extra is worth it or not. I do. This is the one area the club have got something right - don't knock it there are plenty other things which are genuinely wrong but not this brand of hospitality.

| Legends lounge seems decent value. Seems very petty to criticise given much bigger problems elsewhere.

| I fear you are not treating this matchday luncheon with the seriousness it deserves! Please let me know where I can sell electrical goods for four to five times normal retail. It sounds like a nice little earner!

| Yes. The new clientele booking into the Legends Lounge is the beginning of the 14,800 to fill The Stoop on a Broncos home matchday game. Don't knock it to far.

| I did it @30 quid & really enjoyed it,as did the rest of my party. If they're still @ the Stoop next season I dare say we'd do it again @ 40. Also for the OP's benefit, you get into the players bar & whatever that other one they
go in after the game is called.Wouldn't do it every week but worth it for a one off.Ignore Gutterfax, get it booked - if anyone answers the phone that is

The whole "legends" lounge scenario is indicative of what has gone wrong with the club in my opinion.
It used to be that the players would mingle with the fans after the game....I got the entire squad to sign the wife's shirt back in 2006. The closing of ther West Stand, shifting everyone to the East, 2 player presentations post game, 1 well attended by the squad in the jesters bar....the other in the Kings not so well attended has now decended into a scenario where the players requested not to be made face the fans and to be let drift off after they go through the motions in the jesters........
The club needs to pool every resource it has....personally, I would insist that every member of the squad attended one presentation....give in front of ALL the fans in the Kings post game.......win lose or draw. Let the players see what the fans think of a win, a loss or a draw.......
Segregation of fans based on what type of ticket they bought is for the man uniteds of this world, not for the Broncos......well, not yet anyway!
Backs to the wall time for everyone at the club as well as the fans.....together we stand, together we are stronger....a touch of the MILlWALL would be good......
bongo......how dare you suggest anyone ignore me

I think you are starting to lose the plot on this one.

I lost the plot a long time ago...................
Buy the meal...or don't, that's really neither here nor there in the greater scheme of things....access to players on the other hand.....
At Brentford, players mixed with fans after the game in Stripes. There was supposed to be a 30 minute period after the game where Gold Card members got exclusive access, but in reality, pretty much anyone could access the bar straight away.
I remember when Wigan came down on a Friday one year and Andy Farrell haggling with Ralph in the Griffin over the cost of 2 cases of Bud he wanted to buy the team for the drive home.....I remember Widnes players taking the out of me looking after my wifes "minature yorkie" in the beer garden of the Giffin after a game. I remember being worse for wear and giving Russell "Rusty" Bawden my last tin of VB before staggering home.....
The first couple of seasons at the Stoop the players mixed freely with the fans..........then, it all changed and there was a "barrier" placed between fans/players......
By all means, charge what you can for a meal, programme and a cup of coffee, but don't "sell" access to the players and make the squad front up to the fans......they are, with every loss at home, becoming more and more disconnected from the people who help David Hughes pay their wages.
Yes, the club is a professional Sporting Business, but it has lost its sense of community...it has done away with the volunteers and it has burnt bridges at every turn.....selling access to the players and allowing the players to "opt out"of fronting up in the Kings bar are just 2 examples.
