Well aware the team hammered a Championship side with 8 first team squad players pulled die to duel registrations.......nothing to get excited about.
Quote: tw15 "There's some people in this forum who believe they can do a better job than the current owners. '"
I KNOW I could do a better job of running the club if DH gave me 1.5 million a year on top of the 1.5 SKY money .....I have never said I could donate 1.5 million a year into a black hole...
Quote: tw15 "I would respectfully point out that DH knows enough about running a business to have £1.5 million a year to spend on his hobby.'"
He is a commodaties trader.......buying and selling high and low.......niche business and not at all related to the running of a minority sport pro club 2000 miles from its heartland.
Quote: tw15 " I have my own business, but I haven't had that level of success. I don't feel I should be telling him what to do when he seems to be able to run a business far better than I.'"
I also own my own business....part of what me and my team do, is advise sporting clubs in NZ on how to attract fans back to games....It is what I do for a living....apparently we are pretty good at it, so yes, I will offer advice whether it's listened to or not......
Quote: tw15 "I don't know the situation of those complaining and whether they have a business track record similar to DH. If they have, then please do invest in the company and implement their ideas. '"
I can assure you, if I had 5 million, I would have taken the IL shares off him in a heartbeat and the team would have a minimum of 5k fans to play in front of at home games......and again, DH is a successful commodities trader.....
Quote: tw15 "As fans, we have every right to complain if the shop isn't stocked. We have the right to complain about the team's performance, the price of tickets, OTR games and the quality of the pies. We can complain about the "product" but behind the scenes stuff is really up to the owners.'"
stick your head in the sand some more....when you look up, the club will have vanished if they don't change tactics....
Let's get back to this one again
Simply put.......this is the Marketing strategy I put to the club back in 2002.....
2002.....Broncos average gate..3,803......add 5% a year to that and you end up with an average of 6,200 (appx) by 2012. In my many many posts on the subject of attracting more fans, there have been ideas that would have cost nothing, or at worst, seen a minimal spend on marketing materials............but the club did their own thing (nothing)
Fast forward 10 years +.....The club have played in the same area .....(less than 4 miles between grounds)......if they start adding 5% a season now, they'd be on 4,346 by 2022...... and not near 6,200 for another 7 years after thatd040.gif
Tell me........who's business plan is working? I suggested the above strategy to the then marketing team at the club in 2002..........5% a year.........190 more at each game....then 200 the year after....
Now the club are asking all 890 ST holders to bring mates ...that would have been a good idea in 2002.......but in 2012 it's too little too late. It would also have helped if the club had a plan B for when this masterstroke failed.......and by plan B, I don't mean blaming the players........we've had crap seasons before...2010 we had 3,380 as our average....20% more than this year in 2004 we wre really bad....3,460 average.......and the name change was supposed to INCREASE GATES
To put the 5% increase a year for 10 years into perspective....at a tenner a ticket, 806,000 in Ticket revenue in 2012 would have been the income in 2012 if we had a 6,200 average gate...........
....this year they are tracking for 347k.....that's 460k less at the gate, about the same again if not more in residuals and no interest from sponsors.......dare I say, in total......very close to the 1.5 million invested by the chairman?
All this from looking to add 190 fans per game in 2003........and then another 200 per game in 2004.....etc.etc...etc....
hey...you continue with your "fed up" statements...I get no pleasure from saying I told them so, but it's a simple fact......years and years of neglect have resulted in a situation where 652 people bothered paying less than 10k in total to watch a game in a stadium that apparently costs us close to 30k to hire.......which according to you, is the sign of a well run business
Fed Up? It's like watching a car crash in slow motion.......
