| Quote ="BRONCO BILLY"News filtering through to the bar after the game wasn't good.
Chad Randall possibly out till the end of the season.
Danny Orr likely to miss next few games.
Luke Dorn still injured for the next few games.
Rob Purdham not likely to play before end of season.
On top of the result, I could have done without hearing this information.
Trying times ahead for the team & supporters.'" That's just about as bad as it gets.
It was an infuriating performance from Thierry Alibert, however, regardless of his blatant refusal to referee the offsides and holding down, we would have lost the game. When Melling got those two tries in the last part of the game, we had all the momentum and should have continued to take it to Huddersfield. Stupid errors cost us again.
Will Sharp's form really worries me at the moment - he's nowhere near the player he was last season.
Before yesterday, I was thinking taking on Saints in a fortnight might be a good time to play them given their key injury problems at the moment. Given our further injuries yesterday, plus Saints superb showing at Wolves last night, I do worry for a fortnight's time.

| prince of denmark got it right with mr alibert!
you cannot really put any blame n him if he is consistent with both teams and for the whole of the game
Play the ball was very slow, yes! and Hudds seem to lay on for an age, but if thats the way the ref is playing that way, why do we not do the same! its called playing to the whistle
Last 2 tries by the giants very upsetting! and pure lazyness on our part
seriously hope the injuries suggested are just rumour
with danny orr and Chad out then we have even less direction in the middle
There was a couple of lads at elmbridge u 16's looking good yesterday get them in the squad

You could change Sharpe for LMS and Clubb in your sentence equally.
How unfit does Louis look? Hes put too much weight on and is struggling to carry it. I mentioned after the Wakey game he played the first 16 mins and took the ball up once, yesterday he looked equally as tired.
Saints last season reduced the weight of there players and focused on athleticism to meet the demands of hot weather rugby. I think we should be considering this with both Clubby and Louis.

| We were ok in most areas but the support of the ball carrier was atrocious, no second phase play all game despite our forwards actually making some good yards and having some good posession. And we didnt put any pressure on their kicker on 3 or 4 occasions, 2 of which resulted in Hudds tries. Work ethics ok, but too many players going through the motions and lacking enthusiasm and confidence.

| What about the 3 sets we had on there line without actually testing it. That was shocking and to make it worse on the next set(with a pen) they scored.
Our attack was very similar to an amateur team yesterday, where you focus on one runner-which Hudds had no difficulty with.
When you watch Saints attack close in they have 7 players in motion. Everyone knows the move but nobody knows who's is getting the ball which places the doubt in the defence.
Yesterdays attack was appalling-Maybe a consequence of having a prop as coach who then says he doesn't know what the answer is- get an attacking coach in then- seems fair

| There was no flair at all in attack and time after times passes were going to ground and Huddersfield were just picking them up.
Danny Orr did ok until he got injured but his half back partner looks very average and the number of times he tried to throw a dummy rather than pass to the centre i lost count. We are missing a Scotty Hill like figure.
I really cant think of anyone who stood out for Quins.
Huddersfield didnt play particularly well but they did the basics well and took the chances.
Even Brett Hodgson made mistakes and Quins still made him look like a world beater.

| We were woefully short of ball players in all areas. But we didnt play that badly, you dont get that much posession and territory from Hudds easily this year so credit where its due. But yes we missed Dorn, Purdo, Howell and it was disappointing Clubb, Gafa and LMS didnt step up more.

Rubbish-he should have scored when he broke through
Gale puts hospital balls onto players all the time and continually plays the inside scissor ball- have a look how may mistakes we make of his passes.
Look at Wakeys first try from 90 yards a week or so ago-That was off a Gale pass.

| With our poor form are there any good juniors/reserves we can throw in? Youthful enthusiasm and a healthy naivety can really add something to a team. How good were those two wire props that came in v saints (yeah i know they lost but still...)? We just shuffle round the same players when we've got injuries (with the exception of gayle) and it aint working.

Completely agree. Been very disappointing in recent weeks. I've still not been able to bring myself to comment on the match but as I have said before, we are really going backwards and are a very poor side indeed. Clueless.

Dont be such a drama queen we've got a thin squad and we're having a poor run with injuries, but Wakey was 2 points, Wigan played really well and we had a man sent off and Leeds and Hudds are top 3 teams and look like it. We are not a very poor side. Far from it.

| Alibert was dreadful but he didn't cost us the game, it would have helped if he had touch judges who knew the rules. Huddesfield lay on far too long and to me have turned a sharp team into a team that is boring to watch but they won. We were poor, no imagination, no effort, no interest. Very poor. But we will either travel to Perpignan or switch on SKY and put ourselves through it all again, its called being a fan and we take the highs with the lows but at the moment there seems to be more lows. BUT we will be happy when we beat Saints

All TJ know the rules, what you may not have noticed is that the dont have whistles. They can only raise there flags if the ball goes out or there is foul play. Other than that they are pretty much limited to talking to the ref through the intercom. If the ref doesn't want to listen then there is nothing else they can do.
Good coaches play to the weaknesses of the refs. Hudds did that very well. We all know Alibert lets the game go so Hudds played on that. More the fool us for no taking advantage of his style.

We will see. I can't see us picking up many more points this season, Bradford excepted. I spotted someone pointing out we need a Scott Hill type player. Say no more.
Other teams have got into gear. We started off in our top gear and are going backwards. Huddersfield played nothing like they did in the two previous meetings - they were in second or third gear and we were pathetic.

| M Alibert was poor. But he was consistently poor.
Yes, we were offside for a good portion of the game - but so were you.
Yes, we did appear to lie on in the tackle more than usual sometimes - but so did you.
Yes, he did let a couple of our forward passes go - but he did the same with yours.
He was quite even-handed in his ability to referee the match 'properly'.

exactly
we cannot blame the ref for the result
he was consistent with his decisions
if you looked at his positioning he stood a big 10 mtrs so judging where the defensive line in respect to 10 mtrs was obvioulsy being looked at closer by the TJ
As for layign on, yep it was slow, but its down to players to latch on to that and play it the way the ref is going to call it
As for TJ
they can only advise the ref
its hime with the whistle and does not have to listen to the TJ if he thinks he saw it different

| Alibert ignored his TJ's, a few times i noticed the TJ's speaking to him during the game, mentioning different things, he ignored them all the time.
I don't understand why people are saying Clubb looks unfit? I thought that he looks like one of the people trying the most, he played , he can't do alot from that position, he did what he was told to, he made strong runs, and he tried his best to be cover in the defense, i can't remember what try it was by Huddesfield, but Clubb was one of the ones that were chasing the kick, and it was on the other side of the pitch to which he plays.
Louie looks unfit, but he's hardly getting any rest, he came on and off the bench so many times on saturday, imo to try and cover Haggerty who is clearly unfit, carrying to much weight. Louie needs a rest imo.

| My husband commented ages ago at the Wakey match in May that Quins all looked flatfooted. I thought that again on Saturday, it looked like we were playing through treacle, no zip about the boys at all. I don't know what the answer is, problem with training? Wouldn't have thought so. The injuries are a bad blow but I guess all teams suffer from that from time to time. The team just seem to have totally lost their way.
