As tenants, the club would have booked the 12 days required for matches and should expect to be able to have access to the ground on these days ..if we are paying 200k a year as has been quoted, will the club get 17k in a refund?/quote
Sorry but that's not how normal sports groundshares work. The letting team will always write primacy of tenure into their contract, given Quins own the ground they will have primacy of tenure. Will we get a 17k refund, well if it is 17k per game yes we will, if it is 200k per annum no we won't as there are plenty of other dates it can be arranged for.
Primacy of tenure is a standard demand from sports when someone lets their ground out, it's even the norm in non league football never mind fully professional sport.
As Paddock Punter says keep your eyes on Saints (h). That is the same day as Army v Navy, oops!
(For those of you who don't know I am reliably informed the Army v Navy RU is a huge event. I think it got 65k spectators last year. Living in Aldershot it is fair to say this town empties on that day. The bi-annual Army v Navy RL game is held in Aldershot in front of around 150. Some of the Army RU guys are dual coders and play at Aldershot as well. Must be a bit surreal for them.)
