I never understand this. Why pick 17 players and only use 16?!

| McDermott did it quite a few times for us.. But that doesn't bode well for Powell, as he was clueless.
I assume it was just Powell learning off McDermott's tactics.. Hope he doesn't do much more of this as McD's tactics were woeful.

| Could Williams have been injured and unable to play although named on the team sheet? Crusaders had to do that last week.

| I actually thought you were the better side over the 80 mins and felt a bit sorry for the quinns at full time. You had a game plan and stuck to it and played good basic rugby at times, was impressed with your new lad and thought gale controlled things well for you, karl pryce is a joy to watch play and has the most freakish body in r/l !! keep your chins up and I for one have always been one for a london team and love a day out at the stoop. All the best for rest of the season.

He was at Skolars today watching the game which rather surprised.

I can never understand the obsession with using the maximum number of replacements and interchanges. Surely part of the reason for four replacements and twelve interchanges is to cover for possible injuries? If no one is injured and you feel those already on the pitch are doing a better job than someone sitting on the bench why make more changes?
I wasn't at Salford, but I feel we often seem to lose the initiative when interchanges are made involving the introduction of less experienced players. It almost feels like the situation in limited overs cricket when a captain tries to use his weakest bowler at a stage when the least damage is likely to occur.

Karl Pryce.
In his defence I don't think he was fit, especially for that last ten minutes.
Had we used up all our interchanges? A tired prop out wide would have been more effective.
There are no less effective tacklers in the Quins squad.'"
I completely agree. We did leave both wingers exposed a lot but I put the blame on pryce for throwing it away, he made no attempt to tackle either of the players, he just jockeyed them in from about 10/15 metres out and sarginson rightly shouted at him for this.
I also agree with lister that it's a sad state of affairs when we are trying to pick positives from a loss to Salford, but there is no doubting dan sarginson was the best thing about us Friday night, had a tremendous game and well deserved 2 tries on debut. look forward to seeing him play again soon and hopefully Caro does too

| Pryce was a waste of space. The last two tries should never have happened, they went through pryce like a knife through butter. Nothing wrong with him other than laziness on the pitch if his disco dancing on the terraces last week was anything to go by. He had plenty energy then and some great dance moves, pity he doesn't have the same energy, side stepping and dancing feet on the pitch.

| I was at the game friday and Sogspurs i agree Dan had a great debut but to say he was the best thing about friday i dont agree with . JOC at full back was outstanding and the young fella has played wing , centre and full back the last four weeks and to me is turning into a real super league standard player .What are your thoughts ?

| IQ,
Agree, JOC is growing into a very good player. He seems to like the increased involvement from playing centre and on Friday night at fullback.
Both DS and JOC didn't seem to show any nerves.

Spot on Riverside Red , Jamie is only 20 and Dan has great potential so with more games behind him im sure his class will shine through . Also saw Rob Thomas play for Skolars yesterday and was oustanding so the future is so bright ..

| Said some time ago on another post on another forum ( a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...) that I rated J O'C the most improved player of the year. Have seen little reason to change my mind. As an earlier post says, he's matured into a proper SuperLeague level player. More power to him.

I was more impressed by sarginsons debut but I do think Jamie O'Callaghan is the most improved 1st team player this season, he has had a few good games at full back and I am happy to see him play every week if he continues his current form. Think he lost a lot of confidence last year but has it back now, so if he has a good game Saturday it wouldn't hurt to tell him in the bar afterwards ; )
Also saw rob Thomas at skolars saturday and he had a great game. He is already a good player at that level, Who remembers his break against skolars at the capital challenge?
With omari caro still to break through ( who was my pre season pick for next breakthru star ) the future is bright.
Maybe our kit should be coloured and sponsored by orange?
