I get your general point mind, but I'd suggest your nearly 50% short, although that is an improvement on your Portsmouth count!
There may have been a surge of sales in the last hour or so mind. I don't think all seats in 101-102 will be York fans based on previous matches. Even for Whitehaven (when the South Stand was closed) only some of the seats were away support.
Interestingly when I looked at the start of the week it looked around 400 including a handful in the South Stand. I'm not convinced though the same seats are now sold, perhaps there have been returns!'"
I think we are similar to what we had prior to Whitehaven at the same time (maybe slightly less), so this is what I based my view on (different than orangeman). I think we will be over 1K but less than Whitehaven which will still be going in the wrong direction on fans. You would think York are a bigger attraction than Haven so gates should be at least 1500 for this.
Also have a water bottle for kids is nice, but having your photo taken with a Mascot is more memorable IMHO, you can get a water bottle anywhere. So still no activities for kids, and the fans zone will probably be closed. But smithers99 have a pie on me

Not certain we will reach the 1K, depends a lot on who (including us) are late purchasers and whether many of that "cateory" will attend. Hope I'm wrong and your closer to the mark.
With the South Stand closed I'm not sure MyPie will be there. They can park outside the pub, so it's possible they could open.

There was a serious discussion about blocking Broncos promotion after the million pound game, on the basis of ground grading. Certain parties were vociferously arguing for this but lost the argument . I'm told it was worryingly close at points.'"
Whereas oddly in game where supporter levels are generally low and money at a premium playing out of. Big old barn with 3 of the 4 stands closed is what they are after.really, really dumb thinking. Just not helpful. Yes Ealing was a bit of a cricket ground but it had scope for expansion and the atmosphere with 2-3k in a 3/3.5k stadium was good. But Ealing is done. It was driven into the ground last year with crowds of paying guests sub 250 In my opinion.

And what caused this? The increase from £99 to £240 for Season ticket holders, while making the squad much weaker. One of the two people who came up with this madness has gone, the other is still in place and not for moving

Although I'm dubious of your attendance counting, I fully agree with your targeting of the Dewsbury match. Added benefit of being a Bank Holiday weekend so keep the entertainment / refreshments rolling post match. Linking it with Newcastle 12 days later would be an idea. Friday night, approaching longest day of the year. Those two matches just have to target the local community. And rather than feel sorry about the June break, the club needs to be lining up all attendees for the July/August games.
One thing that may not have been recognised about the football supporters is a large number are not local (or even close to local). It's hard to get them visit for another sport, a large number don't even go to every football match (30% of Season Ticket holders don't attend). Some pay but never use their seats. Targeting the local community is a must, but I'm not holding my breath.
Interestingly when I looked at the start of the week it looked around 400 including a handful in the South Stand. I'm not convinced though the same seats are now sold, perhaps there have been returns!'"
I agree I think the count is a little higher than OM has calculated. Inevitably though but it will be below the 750-1000 that I think would be unimpressive but acceptable and bring us back to pre-COVID levels.
In essence attendances aren’t really the point. A cunning plan to give away free tickets in bulk will no doubt lead to an end of year average of around 1000 allowing the club to indicate success. The problem is retention: who comes back and pays. The Widnes and Haven games were uncompetitive and dire respectively. Very few new prospective fans from the those 2 games will have been very impressed, many are unlikely to come again or give it one more shot. The off field effort was equally weak so we got no credit there. Dewsbury is the game to go for. The club should use any influence they have to try and get something in the media to raise awareness. Pack the club out with free tickets as well. If we lose that game it won’t matter in any event as I think relegation would be pretty likely but if we win and on and off field is decent progress might be made.

I think that might well be one of the factors but there were loads and life’s too short to go through it all again. The question is have the club worked out why. I’m. It sure they have- that’s the problem.

| Quote: Smithers99 "The Broncos certainly like a Hooker! Arguably doesn't that mean three of the best players are all playing in the same position?
A two week loan technically means he plays against York only, although in practice I assume it includes Barrow.
Can't argue though that every (good) player added to the squad can only help improve the team.'"
This has to be seen as a positive and we can’t keep getting in the club’s back but both points you make were ones I had as well. It seems to me a natural consequence of the initial decisions we made about recruitment and retention will lead to a scatter gun approach. We may well end up with. The biggest squad in the league and perversely one of the most expensive.
On this specific instance. Say the kid comes in, plays the 1 game(?) he’s lined up for , does well and goes back. What happens then, we bring back one of the 7 other hookers we have on our strength back and say go on son, thats how you do it. Motivationally that seems a difficult sell. Maybe all our hookers are I’ll. in which case it makes more sense.

I was wondering that also, but both Aussie Hookers are also in the 21. Having said that I'm not convinced by my limited exposure to these Bronco's 21's that every player on it is fit or available. For some players it appears a stepping stone to future selection rather than current availability.
I'm probably reading way too much into the format of the published 21, but Bourouh has been slotted into Jude Ferreira's place, almost as if it's one loan replacing another, albeit different positions. Admittedly Bienek is back which is a positive (but is he ready for selection?) but not listed in the correct place.
On a positive note one article prefixes his two week loan with "initial", so maybe there are options for a longer stay if he and his club like what they see.
With Ramsey and Juma missing, that strongly suggests Walker will be in the 17 this week, otherwise potentially no backs on the bench and a forward (Palumbo) still at centre. Although you've got to assume one of those three Hookers (Gahan I'd assume) will be playing as a Half Back.
I'm still keen to see Albert in action. Hopefully this week. With the exception of Ferreira (and possibly Horsman) this is possibly the Broncos full strength team from the current squad.
Looking forward to it. First we watch Chelsea/Man City in the Women's League Cup Final tomorrow, and back again less than 24 hours later for the Broncos. Biggest difference will be the crowd size within the Final sold out (although what that really means I wait to see).

We’ve taken to adding players to the 21 who are nowhere near ready to play. I noticed that Ferreira had dropped out of the last 2 squads and played in the reserves so not sure what’s going on there. I’m not so sure whether Walker will play IIRC he’s a full back and Leland has played in that position so we may end up doing that if he’s not ready. I agree it looks a strong squad but who plays where is a mystery. Is Parata, Borough or Gahan playing hooker- who knows.

But we will.....sooner rather than later. No point in sugar coating it......L1 Broncos v West Wales 2023 ain't gonna cut it for our partners/landlords, so the question why we moved from trailfinders when we're playing out of a 3rd tier RFU ground 18 months later will be relevant.
Or is it that all.of our landlords at the stoop, the hive, trailfinders were all wrong and St David was right?

That may be true but a legal challenge should have been possible especially given it had been used before in SL before.
The key thing is that DH has pritised a move ahead of a competitive team, a choice I suspect no fan would have made.
It was always likely to turn out badly but the club were not capable of seeing that.
Simply reckless.

| None of us apart from Man of Kent (who seems to have disappered from t'other forum now) thought the move was a good idea with the squad they have. But to compound it, not to use the facilities of the new stadium (ie fans zone), and not to have any kids entertainment or utilize the fans zone just shows idiocity to a high degree.
Again on Sunday they are giving a water bottle out.. oh I can't wait. Get Buck back, and get some activities for the kids. That is whats needed to keep the parents and kids coming back, as the rugby is not of a standard to get them back

| Notice it says on the clubs report on the schools rugby league festival that Buck was there for photos. So why isn't the old stallion there for the games assuming he isn't?

Some bullcrap about covid regulations was given the same week that all the other SL mascots were out and about at game time, a child drove the ball for wire and the dons mascot was in attendance.........AKA, the club couldn't be bothered as Sir David had already asked us.....begged even for us to bring mates.
