Given that Merton Council gave the go ahead back in July, they have no excuse for not having a programme with rules & player profiles for a whole new audience available.'"
Absolutely and as they invested in getting a big crowd I’d have thought printing a1000 programmes wouldn’t make a big loss and as you say would have helped newbies.

| The club never stops amazing me.....cant even be d to have a programme/team sheet.
The level of incompetence really is stunning. Feel for the players but the club are getting all they deserve.
Jesus it ain't difficult.
Makes my blood boil the way the club has been slowly killed.
Can we please get someone with a remote level of professionalism into the ub to sort this circus out

| Only positive today was the attendance. Good number of Dons fans.
Doubt many will be enticed back by that performance

Completely agree. A loss might not have turned off Dons fans but fact that the game was lost after 20 minutes makes it a difficult sell. I assume that the squad such as it is was hit by COVID or injuries it’s the only explanation for the side we had out. Was Curran there - I thought he was a coach as well as player?

| Yes Curran was there, he was in the dugout during the game. He had Covid a week or so ago and is still recovering.

| Stadium is pretty good. Need to look at different routes, on street parking was fine. Was a bit of a shock to see queues at the food and drink outlets. Hope they can convince some to come back.

| Shipping 34 points obviously not good, although have to say the second half was much better than the first. Not having played together pre season didn't help, so maybe the better second half could be seen as a good sign.
Positives! Couple of decent breaks up the middle. They didn't totally collapse in second half.
Negatives! Left wing wow! Has he never played there before? Too many free mtrs and set restarts, all justified!
Let's see what Halifax have to offer.

Agreed unimpressive but marginally better in 2nd half against a mediocre side. I suspect what Halifax have to offer will be too much for us if that performance is a fair representation of where we are and we don’t intend to recruit from anywhere other than Skolars.
A positive for me from today is that Dewsbury, Sheffield and Workington all lost so we aren’t adrift from the pack as yet.

| Quote: Smithers99 "So first time watching a Rugby League match live. I noticed some of the new players weren't playing, particularly Siti and Wellington. I thought the Broncos would have shown some presence in the stadium, a programme, merchandise or simply info on the players or a little bit about the rules and general expectation of player positions. Remember a lot of the crowd would know very little and it's one of the easiest ways to get them engaged.
I did rather feel the Broncos were handed everything on a plate by AFC Wimbledon such as the street food, pub etc. I was hoping to get a Broncos feel, certainly in the areas the football club would allow them to. At one point I referred to the team as Wimbledon and I really feel that was because nothing "Broncos" was being thrown at me. Ignoring the constraints of the agreement with AFC Wimbledon and that the football club were obligated to provide certain things, I felt the Broncos missed an opportunity.
AFC Wimbledon ladies produce a simple programme but it really helps to get a feel of the individual players plus getting a few short informative articles. Honestly if there was some written material about the club (definitely) or the sport (probably) I would have bought it.
Really need a competitive game, but it was obvious it was over within 15 minutes. At half time I thought this was a bad outcome with so many newcomers present. Actually the second half I enjoyed way more. Widnes were still superior, but would have created a greater atmosphere if the teams were all square at half time.
I'll go back, but I do worry about how many others will. The reality is the pricing won't help and certainly won't attract family's unless offers for kids are introduced (which may well happen of course). The biggest issue will be a competitive team. From what I can tell, a match with Widnes needed to be exactly that. There are some likely hammerings to come from the big teams.'"
In one post you've just described the club perfectly; put a game on, pick a team, sell a few discounted tickets, do literally nothing else, and expect thousands of people to become hooked.

| The work starts NOW.
Wimbledon delivered that gate, together with 450+ Widnes fans.
If the club are true to form, that'll be it........expecting those that paid a quid to come back for a score or more......
...I wait to be prove wrong

Bienek and Tuilatu gained us some metres up the middle mostly in the second half. Come to think of it I don't think Tuliatu got on until; about the 50 minute mark - looked to be a big mistake from the coach, we were crying out for someone to help Bienek out.
The left wing defence was bad in the 'friendly ' against Hull it was non-existent today. Right wing was just poor by comparison.
Kicker looked nervy, and once he'd kicked out on the full in the first half he'd lost it completely. Am I right in thinking he missed all 3 conversions?
I don't know what the starting line up was as the PA was muffled from where I was sitting sounded muffled. No programme and no team sheet given out as far as I could see.
I'm hoping we have a few better players to come back into the starting line up ( Curran, Fijian full back for instance ) -- we're going to need them.
There were a few out there yesterday, well let's put it this way, if that was their one and only Broncos appearance this season it was one appearance too many. Harsh, yeah, but not an unfair judgement based on the 70 minutes i saw.

| Think macani was on the right wing, he was at least in the right position defensively.
Currently looks like we don't have a kicker in the group, first two reasonably easy conversions missed were a worry. 3rd was a change of kicker but right on touch line so can't complain too much.
For the dons fans that came I don't think the score mattered that much, its more if they enjoyed the game of rugby league live.
