that is a really worrying, albeit it accurate, description of our current state. Add to that our appalling completion rate/handling issues, and our ability to give away penalties at the play of the ball we need to change and fast.
I still believe we can, indeed should, make the top four. I think top two is probably now gone. The coach now needs to show his mettle - playing the referee is surely about discipline, needs to get sorted, team work - why are we so disjointed, is it tactics or personnel?
Handling and completion, these are full-time professional rugby players, surely catching and holding on to the ball isn't too much to ask?
Very worried....................................

I'll tell you why we dont play as a team - Jarrod Sammut.
Sorry, but I prefer the predictable reliability of last year to this maverick. He always wants to push the boundaries, as shown by inexplicable missed touch finder and two, yes two kick offs out on the full. If my memory is correct, each of these resulted immediately or within 2 repeat sets of a Fev score. I sense discontent amongst his fellow players. At a time when we need a steady hand on the tiller, a player who will reliable go about his business, he leaves us on the back foot - the amount of defence we had to do yesterday was incredible.
The negatives far outweigh the positives for me.
The big negative yesterday was Cunningham being assisted from the field with 10 to go.

Lol, not bitter at all then! I don't know any Fev fans who think we are going to make SL this season, top 4 is the realistic goal, and if we do so maybe a bit better showing than last year in the middle 8s.
Perhaps we aren't all that, but the Leeds jibe doesn't wash - we only had two on DR yesterday and most Rovers fans think there isn't much between the guys we have in on DR and our own lads anyway.

I guess the question is why JS doesnt just go with your lads ? The Polish lad ran strongly yesterday as did Baldwinson, plus Aston I think thats 3 players plus the Ormandroyd, Walters, Delaneys of this world, but fair play you are winning and that a position I wished we were in.

There's a massive drop-off in prize money between finishing, say, 2nd, 4th and 5th so you're going to do everything within the rules to finish as high as you can. Nobody likes DR - I don't know any Fev fans who would be unhappy if it were banned - but from a practical point of view it makes sense to use it when the rules allow, especially as we disbanded our reserve team when it became clear there weren't enough teams left running them to make it a worthwhile exercise in terms of fixtures.
The problem with just going with our lads is we only have a 23-man squad, four of whom are wingers and three hookers. You don't need too many injuries/suspensions before you're struggling to put out a team, so it makes much more sense as the rules stand to have a DR arrangement, even though there probably isn't a lot between some of the Leeds guys we have had playing on DR and some of our own guys.
There may well have to be a bit of give and take within that arrangement, but as you suggest, it's a results-based business with huge money at stake. Yes, it can lead to players being unhappy if they get left out, but having a squad of 30+ can have exactly the same impact, we've seen that happen with a couple of teams in recent years.
Part of the competition is how you adapt to the rules, and there's no doubt some teams' DR and loan arrangements have been better handled than others, but players playing for other than their parent club is just a reality of modern RL. Even Hull KR, who have a budget that is much bigger than anyone else's in the Championship, have been going with a pair of on-loan players at half back all season. And I seem to remember London had DR agreements with two clubs back in 2015, when we played you at the Hive you had Sammut from Wakefield and Gilmore from Widnes.

| Dual reg is what it is, like it or not. Does it make it an even playing field? I would suggest not, only way you could do that would be by forcing every sl club to dual reg with a championship club.
As for the sammut issue, you have yr thoughts plum but imo he is not the core of the problem, looking at the balance of his style of play and fact he is outrtop points scorer is a point for discussion, maybe we can't live with him and can't live without him. When he was on the bench we were losing until he came on that has to say something.
We are however back to 2015 we have no leader on the park, let sammut do his run around and trick plays but someone in that group needs to grab it by the scruff and drive em round the park. Are the unforced errors coming from the bloke because no one else is doing anything? Just a thought?

| I have seen all our games this season, both home and away. In my opinion the only team I have seen so far that can put up a challenge and have a chance of getting promoted is Hull KR.. All the others will just be there for the ride.
Okay there are still a couple of teams we have yet to play, so maybe proved wrong. Let us see.

2 kick outs on full, a missed touch finder followed by a head shot, a flakey attempt at a tackle leading to a length of the field -ALL his fault, no one else to blame.

| Have to agree with Torbreck, I have no confidence in Purtell at all. When he gets the ball he never seems to do anything with it.
He looks like Keith Senior and plays like a senior citizen.

| Purtell frustrates me because he ignores the man to his right. Whilst Kieron is a lightweight , give him the ball with sufficient space and he will score. Arguably the first try on Sunday could have come from Dixon but Purtell chose to go left in the move that did lead to a try but it could have come earlier and easier.
We are too narrow, along with Kieran, Ben and Rhys on the other side are equally underutilised.
Sammut is not a team player. Although to give him credit, his tweet after the game inferred his culpability in the poor performance.

| There was a discussion earlier in the season about partial, his abilities and suggestion that he is best centre in the comp. He has not really shown that, admittedly first few games everytime he sent the ball to KD he dropped it, poor passing or KDs confidence but Dixon has improved and they need to start linking.
