I'm in agreement with them.
It is a sad indictment of how far we have fallen in 6 years, but mid table mediocrity in the 2nd tier is probably where we belong.

| The indictment seems fair to me Jim.Given the six years you have had to rise.

Not really "fair" but probably deserved.

| Quote: Perry "Very true, but then again there are only two seasons of the Premiership where at least one promoted club didn't go straight back down, which suggests that three is too many.
The results suggest (and I think you concede this in your post) that Leigh are the only team with a realistic chance of promotion, and of cutting it in SL when they get there. If we did have 2 up/2 down, I suspect that the second promoted side would be whipping boys most years.'"
I would tend to agree with all of this, but I am sure most of the fans of those clubs that went up and straight back downn enjoyed their day in the sun as it were.
Back to RL I would propose a slightly different flavour that is like the way football promotion was done at one time.
Championship 1 team gets promoted in place of SL12, then a mini league of SL11, Champ 2, 3 & 4 play home and away for a second potential promotion place. even a one off game between SL11 and Champ 2 would be of interest, but maybe not enough games for the RFL.
Personally I would prefer automatic promotion even if it was just 1 up one down.

Jim,
There are some in RL circles that would suggest that London should have been been in mid table mediocrity in the 2nd tier (at best) for the last 20 years.
I'll take my tongue out of my cheek now.
As an outsider looking in, it appears to me that there has been a certain amount of miss-management in London over these 20 years and the previous 15 years for that mater. From 20k at Craven Cottage to less than 1k at the Hive doen't make good reading.
Good luck for the rest of the year except when you play us (Fev).

Well earlier on in this thread I expressed a preference for the top 6 in the playoffs, with 1 automatically relegated at the bottom to be replaced by the playoff winner from the lower division.
However, following on from your suggestion, how about the Championship playoffs being the top 5 and the bottom SL club?

| I prefer to see how the current structure pans out. We can make assumptions forever more, and how anyone can make a judgement before seeing the middle 8's in action, is beyond me.

| Atomic, spot on mate, a lot of people seem to have dismissed it before its been tried. Like I said before when the grand final was introduced look what they said and look at first crowd that year look at it now.
Why folk resist change s much is beyond me give it a couple of seasons see what happens if it's poop then the rfl will change it, it's what we have done for over 100 years as a sport

| Buzza,
Never said we could not benefit from a change at the club, have merely pointed out that when Mr Hughes decided to spend his money elsewhere we were severely lacking in other options. RL has constantly changed 2 leagues 1 league 3 leagues but never 0 leagues, London does need finance the only person willing to do that at mo is DO.

| It's simple mate. We don't have another option at the moment! Get your wish get DH to pull his money, there is no one else to step in, comparing that to the changes the RFL have made over the years, it's never been a change that would see the folding of the game! Am happy to embrace change, you have to have something to change to though!

The club may have to take a step back but in the long run that could be a better option. Not quite sure why any of this equates to a folding of the game. There are other RL clubs even in this part of the country.
