1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

Agree with you over all of you main points fully, but it is the best deal, I think we will know in 8 years time! it is claimed the money will now virtually run a Super League costs, I can't see that being the case in 8 years really!

| Errr.......WHAT exposure on terrestrial TV are you talking about, exactly???
The BBC's coverage of the World Cup was nothing short of appalling!
They actually aired a live WOMENS International Union game rather than an international RL WORLD CUP fixture, is that really BETTER? .... REALLY????

The attention we got during the RLWC, from media and sports fans in general, was massively increased by having games visible on terrestrial TV instead of being buried on Sky at 6pm on a Saturday. For the first time a many years people who don't follow the game were talking about the fixtures and how England were doing.

| Premier Sports covered every match in The World Cup with superb commentary, then The RFL pulls the carpet from beneath them!
Like what The Good Dr Koukash had to say this morning at The Salford Media launch, in answer to the Sky deal and the England coach going to Australia;
""Maybe I've said too much ... no, I haven't said enough. The RFL, before they come out and make all the statements, I think of that song, who are you kidding Mr Hitler? Sorry, Mr Wood."

Premier Sports are a budget channel that wants sports for free or very cheap so they aren't going to be treated any differently.
Did he really quote REM and Dad's Army in the same sentence? Wow.

We were mighty glad of Premier, when Sky got tired of The Championship! Yes Sky wanted the Championship back, but in business there are ways to deal with people, you never know when you may need them again.

| London Broncos fans discussing the SKY TV deal for the next period of SL is like Turkeys discussing what their favourite brand of Cranberry sauce is
We have an extra 300k from SKY. This money would have been great if it could be spent 100% on marketing the 13 home games this year........I suspect it will be used to make our books look slightly more attractive to the Cypriot Landlord

| What, exactly, is the relevance of him being Cypriot?

..it highlights the rich Cypriot heritage in Rugby League that patently makes London Broncos such a delicious investment opportunity........If he's Turkish Cypriot, even more so

| I think it may turn out to be a good deal. Sports, specifically football, are looking very overpriced with the competition between Sky and BT Sport. I doubt that will be the case in a couple of years time, and we may see a drop in the value of TV rights.

Not sure what your point was but I think you might have possibly upset Mr K by use of the T word!

| See Mr Barwick has issued a statement today, not happy with comments from some clubs!
Love another comment from Dr Koukash!
Koukash told fans and sponsors he wants Super League’s member clubs to run Super League.
"He also maintains ambitious Championship clubs such as Leigh have no realistic chance of ever playing in the top-flight under the current system.
The Salford owner told MEN Sport[iMy daughter even wonders if RFL stands for not knowing right from left[/i – enough said!

You only ever like to use evidence that confirms your pre-conceived idea about the RFL. What about the best World Cup ever (no debate) and the best ever new TV deal (no debate)? They aren't perfect but the RFL deserve some credit for recent achievements and this type of constant criticism is childish.

Oooh..... It's the dodgy humour police.
EDIT
In fact, scratch that. The point of mentioning where the guy comes from is actually quite pertinent. There is no other reason for this guy being interested in "investing" in the club other than him making a profit. Unlike Dr Marwan, who comes from a similar Non-RL background, this guy has a track record of not investing a brass farthing unless he sees a potential (and pretty instant) chance of ROI. We have stripped ourselves bare and laid at his feet hoping he finds us an attractive proposition.....it's not a very "business like" way to behave for one of only 14 Pro teams in the country.
He has little or no understanding of the difference between wendyball and Rugby.... as neither do his staff.....the only income he is going to be really interested in this year is the RENT we are paying him as well as the FEE we pay him for looking after our admin. The ticketing revenue which he will share with us and his bar and food takings are the variables that he controls but he is on a win/win this year and now we've come into 300k more, DH will have to invest less than he planned, with all promotion left to a guy with little or no success of running a sports team. Check out what division they are in.
At least you can sponsor a player now, although it seems that nobody is prepared to put a price on them for 2014........not publicly yet, that's for sure!

You asked me why I felt the need to point out his heritage, how about asking the others who post here why they keep on about where Gus comes from?
