| Quote: Roy Haggerty "David Hughes has always a very significant role in both signing new players and re-signing old ones. More than you might expect. It is absolutely not the case that he agrees a playing budget with his CEO/coach and then leaves them to it.
Hughes is a man who is very loyal to those he likes. That's not a bad characteristic in life, but not necessarily great in professional sport. It explains why so many players were retained after it became apparent that their contribution was sub-standard. It also explains Gus not having his P45 yet.
On the playing front for next year, Rea has his faults, but is a very well-connected bloke in the Aussie game. I would expect London to be fielding a lot of young south sea islanders from NRL reserve grades, who can get round the non-federation-trained rule without needing an exemption from the limit.'"
Thats fine by me Roy. I just hope they are a good standard as we must be competitive.

| Yep, the same one that signed the incumbent QLD hooker, Jason Hetherington; Kiwi Captain, Richie Barnett; origin & international Jimmy Dymock and Dennis Moran and Tony Martin at the same time. Yep, that Tony Rea.
And won what with them?
It's the same Tony Rea that presided over a group (I won't use the word team) of out of condition slobs, lost his captain mid-season, and is now CEO of a "club" which doesn't even have 13 players. How inspiring. It will be interesting to see how Messrs Clubb and Sarginson turn out after experiencing Mr Wane's skills and experience in a functioning establishment. Quite frankly they could have joined SWL Chargers and they would have been better coached and conditioned.

Is it all about winning a title for you then? Those players made us a more compitetive side. One that didn't finish second from bottom the season before.

More by luck than anything else. Last year must have been one of the worst team's ever over a season to walk out onto the pitch in terms of effort. I would be interested to know why Gower left, and look what Sarginson has said since leaving and also Clubb's public outburst. Aimed at the coach and culture of the LB. At the moment we have the same people still in charge of the future and recruitment and have hardly covered themselves in glory.

| What I would like to know, Rooster, is how many Broncos games have you paid to watch over the last few years? If you are a regular spectator you would understand the use of the terminology used on this site to describe the shower masquerading as a Rugby Team. Or do you somehow know better from your location without seeing anything?

and there lies the problem......players are going to be reluctant to sign for a club which cannot see beyond one more season, with no declared goals, objectives or future plans beyond the end of the 2014 season. It has always been difficult to draw players south and our current predicament does nothing to help the situation. It speaks volumes when a player cannot be tempted away from a club that has an uncertain future and been experiencing their own difficult times over the last couple of years. Pulling a competitive team together in the time available to us is going to be an almighty task.

No need for sarcasm. Personally 2 games in the last 15 seasons.
The real crux and one you appear not to be aware of is that I have shown constant empathy if not sympathy for what you poor s have had to put up with.
When I left things were good. Now they are not. You watch crap, I didn't. I understand the frustrations. I get it.
See Mark Rammond's post for more information about who Rea signed with.
I read a great comment on a player I know on facebook who was confused as to whether or not to stay at the club he has been at since he was a junior or take a different job at a club without a direct NRL pathway. A first grader replied. "There is no longer loyalty in RL. A club will get rid of you as soon as they want to, you chose what's best for you."
Some of the player's who have left from last season would have been left in a no man's land and took it on themselves to secure some sort of certainty in their future. And why not, eh? Who can blame them.

Thats a real shame. A quality gamebreaker. Would have earned us a few points IMO.

| If Sammut signed for us, he wouldn't be able to lead our defence on a merry dance like he normally does twice a season.

Any sarcasm was accidental, I prefer to be direct. The sheer unadulterated arrogance of your comments to genuine ticket buying fans while you (just about) never see the team play is breathtaking.
