I think you'd be better off frothing from the mouth on the Hull forum with the natives, I can't see your view getting much support on here. Horrendous tackle.

| The Penguin text me during the game with an interesting observation - whenever the Sky cameras cut to Powell, he is sat there doing nothing, saying nothing, being miserable. Other coaches are constantly talking to their assistants, their bench, doing things during the game to try and turn things around. Powell just looks resigned to defeat, all of the time.

| Did Howell and O'Callaghan play tonight?
Powell targeting rounds 10/11/12 so he says in his interview. Will he still be employed then?
Bring in Derek Chirosa(sp) as a motivator!!

| Powell was sort of suggesting in the interview it wasnt the sending of that sparked us(his words) more a conscious decision to play faster!!!
Desperate words possibly
If Rodney has a serious injury maybe we could deregister him and bring in Hickey(the old HKR Trick)-Desperate measures possibly!!

| What a truly listless, ineffectual display. Given that we played miles better in Round 1, it is pushing it to blame this on the old 'new team, still gelling' chestnut. That we only decided to give it a go once the opposition were down to 12 men says it all. We didn't seem to want it.
Performance littered with careless errors. Being off-side from a kick off - criminal. Juggling a routine goal-line drop out -criminal. Constantly going high in the tackle and often missing them altogether - criminal. Luke Dorn has clearly decided 2012 is going to be his 'David Howell' campaign.
What can a player like Craig Gower do with so little help? When we're hardly completing sets in the opposition half? It is maddening. It is insulting. Most of all I feel sorry for Tony Clubb and Kirk Dixon, who ran their socks off, tackled fiercely, ran tenaciously. They were genuinely impressive - Clubb continues to look a different player in the pack. Dixon looks unfazed to be thrown in at this level so early. Unfortunately he was so comprehensively let down by those around him.

| Sambolic and shameful. No idea, it was exactly what it has been since BM reign, non stop up the middle, no ideas, no effort, no care. I said when BM went that Powell was not the man for the job and it shows more and more every week. David Hughes has wasted his money buying a talented team when there is no coaching or leadership skills at the club. The only thing that will happen is these players will have their skills coached out of them and plod along and degenerate to poor players. Get rid of Powell and get someone who is up to the job. Powell may be a nice bloke but a nice bloke does not a team coach make.

| Usual nightmare of dropped ball and needless penalties and bad decision making.
Lot of sense from Brian Carney and Stevo - If your going to play the simple one - up play the balls (I have combined their comments) you have to do it properly as it is predictable. So you must get quick play the balls and get up as quick as poss. - if they hold you down you get a penalty - but if you don't challenge them then the ref will just let them carry on as if you can't be d to jump up - its your problem!
These are highly experienced players many who have played at the highest level, if i can see it watching my tv and the commentators are saying the same why don't they.????
When Hull went down to 12 men we started to play the ball quicker and started to get into their 40 metres for a change. We still kept on playing one man rugby instead of trying to overlap with the extra man as if it was beyond their comprehension!? Anyway we managed to pull some points back but not enough. Impressed with Dixon. He has the right attitude and great speed though he is wasted as no one creates anything for him on the wing. At least whenwe had Penny we had some ideas for him. Does O'Callaghan ever pass the ball?? Maybe Dixon should play at Hooker so he can scoot like Roby? Seriously...
I stand by my claim that Randall, Howell and Tamata should have been released and we we will pay for it.
Despite this performance I think there are some decent performances in this team still to come but they need a good shake up. Getting Sargy back will help but I can't see us getting much out of Hudds unless these guys step up a couple of gears.

| Powell has to go he is responsible for motivation & tactics. Since March last year the team have been pathetic, he brings in new players and still no improvement. His judgement as to be called into question not enough props, centres not good enough. I'll use public transport for the giants game, at least I can get ed and forget about the crap Powell keeps dishing up for us to watch

| Just got back from Hull and what a truly dreadful match it was until Sam Moa was red carded. The first & last away game I'll be attending given the costs involved. A shame we were seated in the corner next to the empty north stand though. No atmosphere there at all but had a good chat to the Hull fans who were equally appalled by the dullness of the first half & the refereeing decisions against them in the 2nd.

| Heart dropped as soon as I saw the teamsheet tonight. How on earth can anyone think we are going to win going into a game with only two props. With Cook's injury this went up to three but imo it's still not enough. I thought at varous times all three worked hard but there was no support for them. Running one man out without support runners is not a recipe for success; it's a recipe to get belted.
It is thoroughly depressing seeing the same combination of one man rugby and soft defence out wide and I find it difficult with the change of personnel to blame anyone but the coach.
Also what sort of message is he giving out saying we won't really start playing until round 10?
I wondered before the game which performance was the aberation: Saints or Wire. It is absolutely clear now.
