| Everyone has these thoughts from time to time, unless you support Man Utd or some other w*nky club. In whatever sport. That's the nature of supporting a small, never-won-anything, and never-going-to-win-anything club. But those thoughts pass and you carry on.
What we don't need is one or two self-apponted loudmouths deciding who is and isn't a 'proper' fan.

I'm studying to be a counsellor. No matter how much someone tells or suggest something to you. You and only you will make the final decision.
I'd personally prefer it if more people followed and went to games and helped the club thrive.

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |
|
| I find it hard to understand people whose faith crumbles! it has been a rough journey since that first match at Fulham, but I would not swap it for any other club in Super League, same with West Ham!!

That's fine. Some people will and some people won't.
I'm in the same camp as you.

| im a hull kr fan and started watching my team in the early eighties when we won everything then slowly got worse and worse until i was watching my team in the 3rd division as it was then but i never once thought about giving up supporting my club so i can understand listers contempt for the fan who started this thread

| Some feel more passionately about the club they support, like I do for instance, I'd want nothing more than for the Broncos to do well, but I won't give in on them.
There's been much, much worse seasons than this so far. The fact people are going crazy after we lost the first two games, it was against the team that won the league leaders last year, and the grand finalists! Damn, let the team gel, then start critising.

I wasn't born mate. The closest I've got is the DVD. My dad reckons that night in the British Queen was the best party he's ever been to though.
Hillsborough was great, and the last day against Leeds in May 2011 ranks highly. But that's my point really, the little things really matter for clubs like ours (whether QPR or Broncos) and undoubtedly taste all the better for the rarity. I' sure I'd get fed up of winning things if I supported a successful club. Might be nice to give it a go though!
The OP won't walk away. He might find it difficult for a while, but then something will click and the world will be turned the right way up again. It's unlikely to be a trophy, it might not even be a victory, but something will happen at a game that re-ignites the passion.

Me and others are allowed opinions like this as we stuck our hands in our pockets and supported rugby league when times weren't the best. And I had a brilliant time, even if we lost heavily I would have a great time watching professional rugby league in the South while these people were sat at home doing nothing. Screw them.
so listy you would rather the team folded than initing folk back
Please if that is your opinion bugger off
I would prefer any supporter as long as the team survive

| The difference with all the other teams is that all their fans are born into to the team they support - it is not a conscious decision, only black sheep support other sides. In London it is a question of choice, either you do or you don't, there is no social pressure to do so, in fact the opposite. That is where Rob Purdham's 'fickle' comment came from. Up north if a team is doing badly the fans protest, here they tend to walk away. This is another reason why this club has to try harder.

Thats not quite true mate. Some ,like me, make a concious decision to follow a certain team.I wasn`t even born in the same county as Hull.

No team will ever be sustainable if followed by supporters who decide to clear off when things aren't quite to their liking, and then post bizarre threads asking for reasons for them to come back, like their support is of any importance. Energy and resources should be spent on encouraging new supporters to watch and support the club, not pandering towards deserters.
