| 1st........unbeaten until about mid August, where we will slip up away to Widnes after we have won the Challenge Cup, but at the end of the season with 50 points, we will win the Minor prem and go all the way to Old Trafford where we will beat St Helens in a come from behind that will become the stuff of legends.....average attendance at the Stoop will be 5,840............
.....or back in the real world, 7th!

that argument is so spurious I don't know where to start. You're surely familiar with Moneyball....

Don't seem to recall the A's ever winning anything. plus having Hudson, Mulder and Zito had far more to do with their success than putting Hatteburg in the lead-off slot.
What have they done since losing those arms?
Think it's been 6 years since they've had a winning season.

| Quote: North London Gooner "Widnes in 10th
Shaun Briscoe is a man who'll bring a wealth of experience to Widnes' backline and is someone I've always liked, Anthony Watts looks to be a very good signing (despite him picking up an injury), Rhys Hanbury is another I liked watching and is a decent player, Scott Moore will be playing at 9 as he did in his best spell of his career at Huddersfield, Paddy Flynn will score tries at Super League level, Jon Clarke brings masses of experience and out wide with Isa and Ah Van they look strong. Admittedly, their pack looks weak compared with some squads but Winterstein, Moore, Watts, Finnigan and Clarke should be able to do enough to be beating, or running close, against the likes of Salford, Wakefield, Bradford and Broncos.

I seem to recall Wigan breaching the cap and coming close to relegation.

Yes, but in those years, their spending relative to the big boys was tiny. And often they outshone them.
My point is, yes we might be spending to the cap, but its who we've spent that money on. Just because you've spent up to the cap, doesn't neccesarily mean its on an all-star team.

Odd thought I responded to this?
Anyway let's try that again.
Exactly and if you're spending money on scrubs are you the right man for the job?
