| Quote: "Good signing, now we need some decent forwards.
'" Spot on. Scott Hill has hampered/hammered playing behind a weak pack and we are much weaker now. We need some beef/muscle up front to do some damage and tire the opposition then gower, Witt et al would do some real damage.
also agree re Karl Price, he scores tries! he is infuriating at times, but he can and does have an impact. Defence isnt great but then bluntly we havent defended for 2 years, but maybe with a bigger more aggressive pack that will also improve.........................

| Think Gower could be a canny signing especially if he's written off after a couple of years in RU. So long as he can keep his off-field shenanigans under control he could be a great influence on the pitch for the likes of Sarginson.
RE: Pryce; Wonder if he's worth bothering with to be honest. Lumbers around the park only looking interested about 25% of the time. Yes he's a threat close to the line but IMO he just doesn't show it often enough. Has looked great in flashes but that isn't enough.

| From the highlights and matches I've seen with Pryce it is exactly as you've all said.....he has the size and ability to be a top centre/winger...takes about 3 guys to bring him down.....he just can't be bothered to man up in defence. I see him stand still and just put his arm out and flap at the attacker....no way that is stopping anyone. That is what frustrates me about him. If we can train some aggression into him, then I feel we could reignite his career....he just has to want it enough.
With regards to Gower....I said it before, but welcome. I don't care about his past....everyone has done things they regret in the past....lets accept him with a clean slate for the next 2 years and hope he gives us that experience and direction we've sorely craved in the last few years.
Couple of big ar5e South Sea Islanders in the pack and we could be a force next season.

| Everyone seems to be saying Witt 6 and Gower 7 with Sarginson centre. Why not put Sarginson at loose forward as an extra pivot?

Really, well he does look tall on the field, around 6'1 at a guess, he's big for his age (for a stand-off) and he is quick over a distance and nimble on his feet. Is he the next Rob Purdham, possible. But I would rather have a talent like his in the halves or the backline rather than doing a heap more work in the forwards as regardless of whether you say the 13 is creative or an extra prop, they will do more work than either a stand-off or centre. He could do it, but please don't push one of London, and one of Englands brightest prospects into the pack on a regular basis.

| Aye, leve him to learn the game at centre and then move him infield when he's fully developed.
Also, Anthony Bowman played well for Halifax tonight. Still very young, think he'd make an excellent right centre. Then we can move Clubb into the pack where he belongs.

Sarginson's long-term aim should be as our creative stand-off. Blood him careful and IMO don't mess about with putting him in the forwards. Versatility is good for some players but not for all.

On the surface of it you might be right and only time will tell BUT I suggest Gower's signing is more about his ability to work the field and set up tries, thus spreading the scoring amongst the rest of the team, and Witt or maybe Caro to kick goals. Gale is a decent player and hope he does well wherever he is going but not right for Quins just now.

You don't become captain of Australia if your an average player. It may take him time to get up to speed of RL again. But Quins haven't signed him to produce a bit of magic or score full length tries. They have brought him for his experience, and to guide the team around the pitch. Something Quins have clearly lacked all season.
