| "cjhatesunion" said [list"You keep saying "your"forum and yet you say when you were younger you were a Saints fan and then you changed teams. I am sorry but to me that is a load of BS,how can you change from supporting Saints to the then Fulham, I don't get this at all"[/i[/list]
What is the problem? why don't you understand that not everyone in life backs a winning team and then when they lose a few matches lose interest, like many spoilt Saints fans!
It would be so much easier to support Liverpool rather than West Ham, who I have supported since I was aged 6! - before becoming a Gt Britain Youth Selector I was involved with amateur club rugby in St Helens and Andy Platt was one of the players we brought through. One of our players joined the Saints Academy and he was such an amazing scrum half with a real rugby brain, the first season he was captain and voted player of the season, he invited me to the award ceremony as he was so over the moon and just before the night started they told him they were not keeping him and he went to football! then a few weeks later the so called Director's at Knowsley Road who I had worked close with decided to start an Under 16 team running against us called the Crusaders, now which team would you if you were young play for, so in ended up instead of FIVE under 16's teams in the town there became ONE!
Working in commercial radio even by now I was supporting Fulham as I believed in expansion of the game (I have been to every first game played at home for an expansion team from Southend to Cardiff) I still worked hard to get the radio station to cover rugby league and to sponsor some Saints games. One of the games we were in the box and I always asked if one of the guests we had invited wanted to help select the man of the match, they all said no as it was their first rugby league match, so I picked the man of the match, only for a steward to come back to me and say the Chairman says you have to pick such a name as it is his debut game, I said no, only for a director to come and have a shouting match with me in front of our 9 guests! that was it!
The only games I have been to since at Knowsley Road have been London games! and that will never change, of course some London people support Manchester United!!! LOL

Well, that sounds bitter. The hardcore of Saints fans is made from many different backgrounds. A large number of die hards have been fans since Wigan were ruling with their bought talent and Saints were forever losing and getting nowhere near finals. So you make a big sweeping statement. Some of us are newer but haven't deserted just because we are no longer winning stuff. You have chosen to support the Quins even though you are from St Helens. That's your prerogative. Don't then diss others who have decided not to follow in your footsteps, no matter that some of us are supportive of RL in London anyway.

Half of our board have probably never played the game so view it differently. IMO he is quick, aggressive and can do the minutes. Everything we are/should be looking for and working alongside what we have he should develop (which i believe are his reasons for moving).

| It's an easy choice for me, the rough end of Twickenham or Richmond or the leafy culture of Parr and Clock Face.
Pffft, sign on LMS

| LM-S smashed by the Cas forwards today, particularly young Johnny Walker. Nowhere near good enough to make it at Saints.

I am not attacking Saints supporters, but I do believe that you have had that much success in recent years that many feel it is a divine right, just read you own board this season when matches have not always been easy and the defence has not been good, that is what I was saying. One of my friends a loyal popular side supporter every week moans about other teams lying on at the play the ball, when Saints are as bad as any other club, I would have penalised Graham twice and sent him to the sin bin in the match a Wrexham last night, which team brought in a wrestling coach? only St Helens to try and slow the match down.
I take stick as a Quins Fan as I say it as I see it, if we play bad then I will hold my hand up, too many rugby fans, far more than in football are so rose coloured never seeing wrong in their own team?
Nothing wrong with Parr! it did me no harm as a kid, Allanson Street Primary.

You are confusing 'spoilt' with 'standards'. Most of our team this year are grand finalists and challenge cup winners. They shouldn't be playing as they have been, injuries or no injuries. It's what Saints fans expect of a team largely made up of winners and internationals. Quins fans would be exactly the same if they had a team made up of a similar standard of player. That isn't being spoiled; it's knowing the capabilities of your team and seeing them fall way below.
However, most Saints fans these days are just happy to get a win, preferably without multiple injuries. Expectations change. No reason yet to let them slip out of sight, however.

Fully agree, perhaps even more than half! at one time it was nil and in discussions I had with them it was like knocking your head against a brick wall, they were in touch with Moss Lane more than Knowsley Road. Later on and far too late Eric Ashton was the one exception, IF only he had played for his home town club and had been added to the board much earlier. a Real Gentleman!

| If LMS makes it at Saints it's a sign that Quins is a viable road to the best clubs in SL, which may mean attracting more players and more young recruits. Would be good if he comes back to you after a spell away.

Confirmed that he is off, but still not 100% on where he is to play next season.'"

??????? unless he's going for obvious personal reasons, I thought Rob Purdham had been granted a testimonial next season.
Where did you get your info from, facts or link please

Gale would need to find someone willing to find a transfer fee as he has 2 years left to run on his contract.
