| Given the weather any game is a plus. I suspect there will be sides up north without any pre-season the way it is going. This may just give as a head start. I am right in thinking that only Leeds, Wigan and the KC(?) have undersoil?

Leeds don't anymore. They removed it. Huddersfield have it.

surrey ben what utter rubbish. when we played in the NCL we competed with the best of those sides then so how you can make thats statement is rubbish.'" When you played in the NCL you didn't play any Heartland clubs, did you? If you read carefully what I wrote, I said that Skolars historically would struggle against some of the amateur clubs from the HEARTLANDS (ie Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumbria) especially away from home? Can you, hand on heart say that Skolars would be consistently able to beat these sides, inc Bramley Buffaloes?

sorry mate but prior to their days as a pro club skolars played in the Winter National Conference League that does indeed include the best amateur clubs from the heartlands.
I may stand corrected but i believe they played in division 2 of the competition.
with the founding of the Rugby League conference they then played in both summer and winter before concentrating on the summer comp prior to their entry in to the then National League two.
Bramleys League is Rugby League Conference National, previously known s national league 3.

| thats right gio. heworth, wath brow, saddleworth, York Acorn, Hull Dockers, siddal etc. In fact when we were in the London league we had two narrow defeats to Heworth in the CC by 4 and 10 points i think.
in fact ironically we played Wath Brow in the Challenge Cup at Wath as a NCL side and they beat us by the 4 points score line they beat us last year, but I tink 350 mile trip as an amateur team was an advantage to them

| E.S. I'm not trying to knock Skolars, I want them to succeed, and I've been up to The New River to watch you play a number of times, and I'm really looking forward to supporting Skolars at the double header game. It's just I think a degree of realism needs to be put into this conversation. I really hope success comes the club's way this season.
