As it happens I can't use sunscreen as I'm allergic to it, and I don't go to the beach because I don't like the hot sun. I thought we played in an enclosed stadium, not a f****** beach? More to the point, we play in a good stadium with a nice shaded stand where I could sit out of the direct sun, if that particular stand was actually available on the day. Instead I have to sit in the sun squinting at the pitch and covered from head to toe like I'm in an Islamic republic with a nice shaded stand laying dormant on the far side.

| Pity for you. Some of us more fortunates like the sun.
You cant do much about the environment. Not even the Chinese who wanted to get rid of the clouds during the Olympics,
Get used to it and enjoy it.

D'oh!
I'll wait until I contract skin cancer then.
(Or else I won't attend games at the Stoop, like most of the rest of the population of London.)

So now we can't watch professional sport because its sunny and we're all going to get skin cancer? And the rest of the population of London are going to give the game a swerve too because its a nice day? I agree with most of your postings but you are well wide of the mark here IMO.

| Sunny Saturday afternoons and evenings are when our product is at its best IMO. Would people prefer a dull, cloudy sunday afternoon?

Sorry WQ, you don't seem to get my point. I'm not just being fussy - I literally fry like a sausage on a barbecue in hot sun for any length of time. I'm particularly susceptible to sunburn - more than an hour and I'm noticably burnt - and I'm allergic to suncreen. If I use it I look like I've got measles and need a prescription for steroid cream.
I was caught out yesterday. The later kick off meant my seat was in the full glare of the sun even though I'm in the back row. It wasn't that hot, and it was 6pm by the time the match started, and my arms are still red and itchy today, and I was bloody uncomfortable even before Will Sharp started handing our early Xmas presents!
Alright , I'm in a small minority and I accept that most people will probably enjoy basking in the sun for a couple of hours, but it's still bloody annoying for me personally that I could be sat in comfort in the shade of the empty Lexus Stand instead.

| At the end of the day the club do need to think about what will make the match experience the best it can be while also not chucking money away by opening the whole stadium.
There is no doubt that the Lexus (or LV) is the best view and now that it seems the the North Stand is open more than before the solution is surely to give the fans the best value by giving them the best view and overcoming some issues about the match experience
Whatever the arguments the club need to enhance the experience to make people want to come and watch games. Despite half of the season going past it seems that the basics are simply not in place such as stewarding etc and sadly these are all things that will put doubt in peoples minds
Fans need to leave the stadium wishing time away for the next match not mumbling about the view because of the sun, the fact that they couldn't sit in their seat etc
These are basics which should be sorted by now but sadly we seem no further forward

Do you think the views on here are the majority expressing there concerns or just a few.
I was in the Army for a long time and used to make every one( the Regt) do PT/play sport on a Wednesday afternoon(sport afternoon in the Army). The CO came to me once having held a meeting with the Regt and said the blokes are moaning because you are making them play sport. I said is that the blokes in general or the fat Bast*rds who cant play sport who are complaining. After deliberation, yes when you come to mention it.......
So back on thread- one bloke who doeasnt like the sun thinks we will open a stand for him. Are you the one that wants a warning on a packet of peanuts that says- Contains nuts. Get with it.

I guess we will never know for sure but of course it will be the minority
Still think that a change to open the LV rather than the East Stand will be the right thing next season though
Seems the club were forced/chose to be dictated to by SKY/BBC by using the East Stand so the ground looked full but given the recent past, I can see no reason why the club should pander to SKY given the treatment they have given this season and the BBC think that RL is not played south of Warrington anyway
Time to put the fans first rather than TV

Who are you talking to Sky, RFL or Quins?
Wigans Football chairman(Whelan) was on TV saying he is going to give tickets away free to the community as TV sponsorship revenue is that high-Do we need supporters (Hypothetically of course)
How much do Real Madrid make from tickets when they have paid Ronaldo(500 000) and Kaka what ever he gets. Ticket revenue these days is small fry.
If Sky want they will get-simple

Too right the East Stand has a very poor atmosphere but do you think fans will ever but put first?
