Purdo and Chad are key players for us and Im very happy to hear this. Chris Melling is playing well atm and hopefully will continue to do so, but I dont see him as a key player in the same way. Replacing Purdo and Chad adequately with the restrictions on Imports and quotas would be nigh impossible imo

Recruitment for 2010 could be interesting. We have to reduce our overseas/quota by two anyway and with the problems of recruiting overseas now I think that door has been closed to us.
Marquee players Up North cant be tempted down here so I forsee us relying on improving the youngsters we have got with possibly some smart recruitment from BM finding another Golden or Ben Kaye to add depth to the squad.

Last year Skolars got 1500 in, for an NL2 game in a part of London most people have never heard of - which is three times the average I would think.

Even if we only got the 1000 extra, that would be a 25% increase or so on our attendances, and I'd expect more to go to the Stoop than New River.

People have a lot more sympathy for the Skolars - they are not a rival SL team, and it would be far more interesting for most going over to see them as it would be a unique experience.

IMO its an easier journey there too, especially for people staying around North London - straight there on 1 line, rather than crossing London, faffing around changing and a walk to the ground.

But the Fans Forum report on the club site says "• The club don’t envisage overseas quotas being an issue at the end of the season."

The Hull FC match was compeltely different given that I am discussing FACTS, whereas they were discussing opinions on the match gained from others. If I was moaning about the poor stewarding at MM I could understand your point, but i'm not.

Yes, I accept its not going to be an issue in the sense there will be probaly 2 or more coming off contract and the club will just have to lose them but when we want to recruit we will not be able to look overseas now.

IIRC correctly McDermott said we have 5 overseas quota players (2 Chads,2 Lukes and Howell) plus some with exemptions (Gafa, Hecks, Temata). Although it wan't mentioned I think these are classed as overseas trained. I took from that we didn't need to lose anyone but would be unable to sign an overseas player without one leaving and there was no suggestion of that. Not sure of all the current contract lengths though.

How long's left on Danny Orr's contract?

Last i new this was his last year? Unless he's signed a extention on it that i cant recall.
