| The Broncos have not taken the Challenge Cup seriously, for many years.

| At least we haven’t been drawn against one of the top 4 who’ll probably give us a spanking....oh hold on. Sigh.

1,302 was the gate for our swansong v them in 2014 when we both went down.
With a bit of planning, we should look to triple that, starting with tickets for a tenner and some decent EVENT MARKETING!!!!
Dare I even consider a "double header" with Skolars to create a festival of London RL?????

I thought it - you dared to say it.
Seems like a brilliant and yet blindingly simple idea doesn't it? If Hughes and co are committed to building RL in London (yeah, I know!) they should have been talking to Skolars and Dons last night. It's a chance to turn it into an EVENT! Kids for a quid, Dons ST holders too? The atmosphere on Sunday was really good, so here's a chance to build on it, surely?
Weekend of Feb 26/27 .Clock is ticking............

| AFC have a home game at 3pm on the Sunday.
So you’d think we play Bradford on the Sunday

AFCW are playing Doncaster on the Saturday, so yes, Sunday looks likely

| I would think that the chances of playing a double header with Skolars are highly unlikely, due to the pitch.
Wimbledon are unlikely to allow three games to be played on it, over a two day period. Shame though!

Yeah it would be a real shame.
Seeing as it's a relatively new pitch and the Dons don't play at home again til March 12th. That would give it a bit of time to recover surely?

| Reading between the lines of a few things posted on Totalrl.com I get the impression Skolars aren't best pleased with Broncos right now. It would probably have to be made well worth their while and I suspect Broncos will view that as a risk

That's a shame - it'll be another missed opportunity for Rugby League in the Capital.

Unfortunately whilst the Men next play on the 12th, there are also Ladies matches. AFC Wimbledon Ladies are scheduled play on Tuesday 2nd but always have the option to play at Carshalton if necessary as they did on Sunday (Widnes clash).
The bigger issue is that Plough Lane is hosting the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup Final six days after the Challenge Cup match on Saturday 5th and it is being shown live by the BBC. I suspect the football club would prefer there wasn't Rugby six days earlier. Probably less to do with the use of the pitch (Rugby League causes minimal damage similar to football), but more to do with removing the Rugby lines which will not look great on the BBC for a high profile match.

There's that partnership again.....
If wimbledon want the arrangement to work, then this would be a great time for a work around.
Lines can be scrubbed, pitch can be given extra TLC and skolars can be bought.
Skolars would expect 400 if head to head against a broncos game. Bing them £15k and they'd soon forget Hughes bull attitude to them.......and as you keep banging on, Wimbledon get paid based on crowd numbers....so aim for 5k....
Every kids side and amateur club invited.....a proper festival of RL in the capital live on bbc

| I doubt Skolars would get 400 head to head with Broncos unless something has changed since Oxford went pop

The only negativity I've heard regarding the Broncos from AFC Wimbledon fans concerns the markings on the pitch. They were told they wouldn't be seen. In truth they do look horrible on TV.
I also surprised they can't clean them up easily; they've done a pretty rubbish job so far.
To be honest they need to sort it after the Challenge Cup match. I'm guessing the match will be live on BBC2 (rather than red button). Although Rugby League doesn't cause much damage, it's probably not wise to put two matches six days before.
At the Broncos SGM the was discussion of the impact of a third team groundshare (e.g. another football team) and the answer was yes, but it would require a lot more maintenance and ground staff. In fairness to the football club they agreed to rent out the ground for (13 to 15 matches was their estimate) and not to incur extra costs for heavy usage. It's not their job to promote London Rugby; and they would only get two weeks notice that the Skolars are playing at home (haven't the Broncos pinched all their players!)
