Agreed, I thought our SL forwards would dominate despite the deficiencies of others but no.

I suppose it was inevitable Minns & Kelly would come back to haunt us. But it showed at this level good experience counts for a lot. We knew that of course when Whare was here.

As bad as they may have been defensively at times, Boafo & Macani would improve the backs. Don't remember them signing elsewhere.

Macani may have gone to Richmond.

I think Bienek spilled the ball 3 times. He'll want to improve on that.

Clearly a pretty makeshift Broncos team but Goole very much deserved their win. They gave it absolutely 100%.

I was sat near Scott Taylor, seems a very well organised coach.

There is an ex London Welsh player Tololima Savainnaea who has gone to Richmond who the club should take a look at.

Can’t say I enjoyed it nor the journey there and back but I thought we were lively first 15/20 and then just fell away. Agree with Rfe Goole seemed to want it more. Lovell going off, them stepping it up after the break and effective targeting of our edges especially with kicks did for us. They deserved to win and whilst I don’t see a home loss to a L1 side as anything remotely positive I thought we were better than I feared. I thought the 2 Aussies looked promising. COB is clearly our go to this year. I thought his kicking was a mixed bag but felt he did a lot of hard work. I thought Aaron Ball offered more than I had feared. The rest the jury is still out but our 2 looks like he may have some toe but we rarely got the chance to see it and Goole handled him well. Was expecting to chase down the Goole player for their second try but it didn’t happen. Overall it looks a side that could compete with most Championship sides. Whether we win many time will tell.

I think there are quite a few players we should take a look at but the simple reason we have what we have is because we don’t have the money. It wouldn’t surprise me if we now have the smallest player budget in the Championship and possibly less than some L1 sides.

Generally we carried the ball badly. I’m sure we can fix that problem up. Dropping the ball a lot notwithstanding, I thought Goole found Bienek hard to handle. On a side issue I thought the number 3 trialists, name escapes me probably Ball or Hall or Small got in a couple of good shots. If he is retained I’m sure Eccles will advise on the inappropriateness of wearing tights in a game at this level.

I thought the 3 was probably the best of the bunch.

Was 5 the guy on the left they tested with a few high kicks? It’s a steep learning curve for many of these players. The good thing is we know some will reach the level.
I thought the Wigan lad looked lively as well so that’s a plus. Mind I’m not looking forward to that Fev home game much.

At least we've managed to avoid a mauling from Wakefield. Bradford & Fev will be tough enough.
