Elliot Kear? Or still injured? He seemed to be walking around fine today.

My first game of this season and I thought we were great, the tries at the end for Fev mostly came down our left which was a bit all over the place after Williams & Cunningham's injuries (Cunningham played centre after Williams went off for those not there).

Sammut is a class act, SL level for me. And I think Matt Davis is superb, he'll go on and be another McMeeken I think.

I expected more from Featherstone. What with them being two in two and only below us on points difference. I suppose the fact that they played both their first two games at home probably put them in a false position.
They were poor and Richard Moore let his side down, although perhaps getting into players like Cunningham was in their game plan. Getting caught probably was not.
Overall the score line flattered them, in reality we should have kept our eye on the ball and put more points on the board.
In truth we have to be pleased to be where we are. Still a long way to go but for now we are in a good place.
Bring on TWP.

Think Richard Moore did exactly what his coach told him to do, rough us up, he overstepped the line and got caught.
Williams injury looked like maybe a deliberate hit at the ribs while on the ground.

I agree, they had a go at Meadows a few times too. All part of their game plan I think to rough us up.

I suspect Rhys will be out of next week, not sure how the head protocol works, but Cunningham will be a doubt, which would be a pity because I thought he was excellent. Our attack for 65 minutes was outstanding, defensively also pretty good. The sending off, injury to Cunningham and Sammut's sin-binning seemed to disrupt us, and inspire Fev!

The penalty count against both teams was massive, which didn't help the flow of the game, not sure if it was the cause of so many handling errors. I agree with NB, we were heavily penalised for holding on and that we need to get smarter in playing the ref, Fev were much more experienced. Battye was heavily penalised (I think) which is a shame as I sponsor hime! He also is a good player otherwise and I think has put on some weight, but not lost speed. What NB will not agree with is I felt the ref seemed to operate to different standards for us/Fev. I am not saying he was biaised, just some of the penalties against us for holding seemed a tad harsh, and similar tactics from Fev seemed to be let go, but that just maybe that Fev were smarter.

All in all a very good win, and I think much larger and more comfortable than any of us, if we are honest, would have expected. Indeed if Sammut had stayed on the park I think we would have scored 60, and the points difference would have been nearer 40, but I don't want to be churlish.

I have read somewhere else that the Featherstone fans believe out artificial pitch gave us an unfair advantage, causing us to build a commanding lead.
They never use the slope on their pitch to there advantage, do they? Just sore losers I think.

They are a slow, old, overweight team and speed was always going to catch them out. The Cunningham and Pitts breaks from acting half back was something you only typically see on back fields at very low level.

The pitch is the least of there worries.

Love the Fev fans attitude, by there logic every game should be played on a neutral ground. Whingers! Home advantage is the same for every team, as you say Fev don’t have any advantage by knowing the effects of the slope on their pitch do they.
Can’t agree they are an overweight slow team, they showed what they are capable of in the second half against us.
Yep the artificial pitch gives us an advantage, that’s why we play home and away, but I think last two games for the future first real time we are showing we know how to play on it, we should be kicking 40/20s every game.

Richard Moore got a four match ban for his assault on James Cunningham.

Assault is an interesting phrase! What was the actual charge? Striking or punch

strike punch slap no matter what, Cunningham didn't ask for it or give permission for the offence so therefor it is technically assault.

dictionary definition
a. A violent physical attack, as with blows.
b. A strong or cutting verbal attack.

Not saying it’s acceptable that he threw a swinging arm and smacked him one, but by the definition virtually every tackle in Rugby league qualifies as an assault. He got the red he deserved for foul play,4 games some may see as light considering his record but all depends on what they saw on the video.
Where was the contact? Was it closed fist? Was it open palm? Etc etc
By you definition k Dixon carried out an assault when he threw the punch as well in the same game.
Flowers in the GF was assault, but if we start calling incidents like Moore assault then let’s all pack up and stop playing the game.

I think I had a reasonable view. It was a stiff arm aimed at the head and meant (in my opinion) to do damage to the player.

as to assault - if moore had done that on the high street and hit some across the head with an outstretched arm - then it would have constituted assault. on a rugby pitch, "violent conduct" or whatever it is called. He was appropriately sent off and given his track record lucky to only get 4 games, Cunningham was lucky that he wasn't knocked unconscious and therefore didn't miss any games

Brian, I agree, run up to someone in the street hit them in the midrift or legs and take them to the ground it would be assault. It’s rugby it’s it is a contact sport, what Moore did was break the rules of the game, like I say start calling it assault, which is a criminal offence then you can never play a contact sport.
He got caught he got punished, Cunningham played it well and stayed down, he didn’t have too he could have got up and retaliated.
