"People use statistics the way a drunk uses a lamp post - for support not illumination": |

| Quote: gutterfax " AK apparently thinks that based on 2014's numbers, 2015 on the same model isn't for him, which points to us having to pay the man rent.'"
Yes I think we've got that bit. TK appears to have decided that in 2015 ticket revenue less costs is insufficient to make it worth his while if stories are to be believed and so an alternative will need to be arranged.
Quote: gutterfax " then it points to the club having a similar if not greater rent bill than they had in 2012.'"
No it doesn't.
It's an argument you'd like to be true but the figures you supply prove nothing with regards to how much benefit the Hive will derive from having the Broncos stay next season and how much revenue TK has determined is necessary to make it worthwhile. imo you are just repeating an unsupported assumption and constantly repeating it does not make it true.
It's a broken record that the Stoop rent + admin costs & marketing - ticket revenue made a loss and contributed ZERO to the playing budget so to now claim that Broncos not paying rent, admin costs or marketing and forfeiting the ticket revenue in exchange is a poor deal is a joke. On multiple occasions you have compared the ticket revenue at the hive to the rent at the stoop while choosing to ignore the costs broncos no longer pay and the Hive now cover out of that revenue, it is a completely false argument.

| Let's keep having the same argument over and over again in a thread that's supposed to be for the Wire game.
Start a new thread for us all to ignore GF, that way we don't have to read it on a thread that has no relevance to your subject.

Brilliant its my fault now!
Who is in denial?
I dont think anyone on this forum, or who sit in the stands at wherever we play are in denial that we are deep in the mire.
But come on you pontificate enough about it, you constantly tell us over and over again how rubbish it is, despite us telling you over and over again, yes we know, what are you are going to do about it?

Fine Timothy.
What part of Wire getting to within 90% of a point a minute to send us down would you like to explore? Given that the coach has tweeted that the vast majority of the team will be gone by the end of the year, is there a particular area of relevance to next seasons chances that you wish to discuss, or are you just another lame lemming mindlessly following a club that is still owned by and has it strings pulled by the idiots who have got us relegated?

Do about what? London Broncos?
What I would have done has been documented on here and elsewhere over the last 12+ years Michael.......not saying I had all the answers but the refusal of the club to even attempt to get the basics right does point to me being able to say:
'It's not like I didn't warn you this was going to happen".
I get no pleasure from it BTW......if the club had added 3% to their base year on year since I started "prattling on" then they'd have a base support of close to 6,250. That would generate over 1.5 million in ticket revenue a year.....as opposed to the 0.00 that the club gets for 2014.
What would I do now?
Until Hughes has gone, not a ing thing thanks. The man's an idiot that has "almost" killed the club in 6 years of madness..end of!

| not what I said mate!
I am not asking what you would have done or what you would do?
and I mean preston grasshoppers! who do you think I am talking about on the London broncos forum
I asked what YOU are going to do about it? apart from waffle, which is actually all you can do
We get it! we know! you have said it over and over and over again but TBH
Its very dull.
The basic fact is we are stuck with what we have, as fans as you are and supporters as we are here there is actually nothing we can do apart from turn up or not turn up

Nail on the head there Michael.......turn up OR NOT as the case has shown. As for doing nothing, I'd buy this club (or what's left of it) in a heartbeat and turn it around inside 5 years if we were still at the stoop....in SL witha 3,700 average as we were when he started ing things up......take it debt free of Hughes hands for a quid, 200k a year rent for 13 home games with the rest of the sky money spent 40/60 on marketing and the team.......not wasting hundreds of thousands employing s to get us to 10th either.......
But no......the genius ed about 30 million against the wall and look where it's got us.
Furious doesn't do my mood justice as a description!

| Mate, I know I rag you a bit for some of the posts.
Am just trying to point out the fact, that in reality WE can do very little about the situation, its not sitting back and accepting it, or being happy about it.
The only power we have as fans is turn up or not turn up, pontificate as much as we like, whinge moan, quote figures and percentages, BUT SIMPLE FACT DH is the clubs financial backer, without him in the last couple of years most likely the club would not have been competing at any level.
Why are we not blaming Mr Lenagan for bailing on us BTW?
All your points, we get, we know, I dont think anyone on here actually disagrees with what you say in regards to how we got here, but saying "we have to do this, we should have done that" is pretty pointless, we do not have the power to make it so, thats until one of the die hard fans wins the lottery.

| Michael, all that has happened in 2014 is that David Hughes has felt a little less guilty every week about the basket case his decision making has turned the club into.....and with each passing week I am told "there's nothing we can do about it", as the fans trickle away, the revenue streams dry up and we trundled towards assured relegation. Next year, we have a few bob less to spend, but enough to get us through the season, but the year after that, we are well and truly buggered.....and the while, I'll continue to hear "there's nothing we can do about it". Then, as we look towards 2016 with no fans and therefore no income other than the pittance handed down by the RFL, the "full time" squad will become part-time/semi-professional and the chorus will be "there's nothing we can do about it"........until we pass the Skolars and Hemel on our way down to the end of the line........but those of us left will take solace that "there wasn't anything we could have done to stop it"...

GF we all know that with our owner we move closer and closer to the end but short of buying the club off him (and I mean this seriously) what is there that the fans can do practically in addition to turning up to games, encouraging / dragging along friends and family to do likewise, joining the LBSA and turning up to its meetings and promotional activities ( riding the train, SOO at Walkabout) and generally supporting it as it aim to make the Broncos more of a club and less of just being a team ? Please practical suggestions that the few hundred or so of us that are left can actually do.
The lottery win would be fantastic but as I've been playing the bugger for years, and can't remember the last time I won a tenner, I don't see that option ending any time soon

simpsons/017.jpg Welcome Quins Kitties born 02.04.09 -
Purdo - Determined, loveable with a "can-do" attitude. A born leader.
Louie - Big, white and fluffy. A very noisy prop forward.
Harley- Cute and gorgeous (just like our no.9) Well, I couldn't call her Chad, could I?
Update on Quins Mogs :-
Purdo - deffo leader amongst Mogs. The Capo.
Louie - turned out to be more like Louie Spence than LMS. Re-named Judas.
Harley - Cute but not as gorgeous as our no.9.
Oh well, at least I haven't got a Willy.:simpsons/017.jpg |
|
| Yeah, well said Rob.
As for DH, it should be remembered that without him, there would be no London Broncos so it seems rather churlish to keep slagging the man off, imo.

| Yep, well said. Who knows, in 18 months time GF might be wrong for once.
Being a supporter is all about blind optimism or resigned acceptance. We go and we support, but we don't hold the strings.
