| Quote: gutterfax "We were told that those b'stards at the Stoop weren't very accommodating and that our new home at the Hive would all be sweet as bro........same way we were told shirts in the shop by the wire game at the latest, regular updates from the club and all the other good news sprinkled with pixie dust that was going to make this year the year of the horse.........
....when in fact it's pretty much as you were....just a few miles up the road
But getting back to the topic at hand....
We had stand(s) closed at the Stoop and nobody complained. I know the Hive is smaller but unless we're near to capacity of the two side stands I don't see what makes it any different.

If the numbers are low then the terrace is closed for Away fans at football. You can still buy terrace tickets in advance but you are seated in blocks f&g of the west stand when you go as this is the away seated section for football..
If the home attendance is expected to be below 600 then the home terrace and West Stand is also closed and home fans are seated in the East.

Yes, there was a couple of incidents earlier in the season where away fans hadnt got the message and were upset to find they couldn't buy a terrace ticket on the day, Barnet v Salisbury was one of them. For a herts senior cup game the attendance was a few hundred so only the east stand was open.

So....just so we're clear on this...you believe that rather than attempt to attract either new or lapsed fans back to the games, we should instead let the landlord decide which parts of the ground we are allowed to open?
At the big bad nasty Stoop, it was the club themselves who dicked around with which parts to open or close. In their frantic efforts to make us look more viable, they have moved us to a stadium that in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 we would have had overcrowding issues with, but now they are closing off 40% of the capacity to save THE LANDLORD SOME CASH
apologists anonymous would do a roaring trade at the hive on match-day....maybe Gus should flog them some sponsorship

Are you seriously saying there was a bribe?

The FACTS of the 2014 arrangement that have been made public are:
The Club pay rental and admin charges for the use of office space, the pitch at Underhill and the staff of the Hive in things like HR/Marketing/Admin...
The Hive collect and keep all ticketing and match-day revenue including bars and shop in return for the games being held there.
AK is in receipt of funds from the RFL to him directly, to market the club/games.
Why the would the RFL pay the landlord to market games when the only person to make a brass farthing from said marketing would be the landlord.
For the sake of the legal team at RLFANS.COM. I am not saying their was a Bribe......I am saying that it seems strange that the RFL would pay someone with no chance of seeing any return for either themselves, our club or the game in general.....call it what you will.

| To be fair to the Hive I can see it makes sense for them, I presume it was their call. I just find it hugely dis-spiriting that at a time they should be trying to market us to the locals they decide to close off the cheapest tickets. It looks suspiciously like an admission of failure before we've even seen much evidence of marketing. If that had happened and gates were still shocking it would be less dispiriting.
I'd rather they'd given a few hundred terrace tickets for these games away to locals personally.

Apparently they tried this, but the local Tescos complained that it was hitting their bog paper sales.

| The terraces are a big appeal to away fans and some home fans. You take it away and reduce attendances and appeal of the club. You also show a lack of ambition and vision for the club. I'm hugely disappointed with this police. The stadium is tiny and the open, tidy nature of it is it's redeeming feature.
You close the terraces and it becomes a soul-less one sided ground. I'm pretty close to giving up on the club tbh.
