yes he has relatives in the area and is looking to share a house with colbon somewhere around hemel hempstead I hear. It's as good as a done deal. Cook has been pretty good for us this year when he's played, our coach doesn't really rate him despite numerous good performances and has messed him about , he's been excellent on attack but misses the occassional tackle, Colbon on the other hand has been injury plagued for the last year and a half and is nowhere near the player we signed from Wigan in his first year when he was a pretty solid superleague winger.

Let's keep things in perspective - we haven't even finished this season yet. The club made positive noises a few weeks back about spending/speculating more to get a stronger squad. It's going to be who we have in February that matters, not who we have now, or after the final game of this season. I trust our club is simply playing its cards close to its chest. Alright, I still wait to be totally convinced, but I'm not going to write off next season yet.
If we can't get comparable (or better) replacements for Gale, Wilkes & Ellis we might as well withdraw our licence application like Crusaders did and let Halifax have a go.

| As an aside, of the loan players, who I think I am right in saying are all out of contract at their parent club, which one / ones would you like us to sign on ?
I would love to see Mitchell and Burnett for a few years.

Matt Cook seemed to be going places when he was the England team (GB were playing at the same time) back in 2006. Never really kicked on, seems to be solid and then pops up in a game with a scything run and scores a try, and a back-row with a bit of pace and a solid work ethic is never missed, although he does seem to largely a bench player, maybe a move back to London will see him take a starting role.
Colborn I am amazed played so much for Wigan, not suprised that Hull KR took him, but am suprised he was given the no 5 jersey. Colborn just looks slow and awkward, but a try within the last month or so he flew in at the corner and looked like a different player. Injuries are hopefully over, and you don't play over 100 SL games if you're no good, but injuries both before his Wigan career kicked off and at Hull KR make you forget that this guy is 27 or thereabouts. Oh well at least if he arrives down at London we'll have him for his peak years.

Well that's the strongest indication yet that Gower will be here for 2012, and that we are still talking to players out in Australia, which is good news on two fronts.
I've got no issue with Gower coming onboard. Witt and Sarginson could do 28 SL games at a push, but you wouldn't want to rely on that, and Sarginson will get to learn from two quality players and could even spend some time out in the centres and still play a good amount of games for a teenager.

| Colbon is a decent player. His workrate and commitment can't be faulted. He's simply too slow for a winger and not big enough for a second row. I'm suprised he has not ended up in the championship.

....he's behind you
Again.....if you build a team rom the best of the NRL it would be pointles unless you you tell someone(other than Listy, homer, padock and poplar....)
....marketing, you may be surprised to hear, is the answer!

nope...always open to suggestions of ways of getting more fans to games. If marketing isn't key, then please do tell me what is? 2 Play-off seasons, 2003 and 2005 didn't improve gates, neither did a trip to wembley, so don't say a better team will pack'em in.....it won't.

| When asked when he would be signing that 5-year contract extension, Dan Sarginson replied :
"Whenever they lay it down on the table for me mate"

It will be suicidal to the future of London Rugby League IF Dan is allowed to be poached and go North, this is not what our long term strategy should be, it is developing our own Talented Young Players, Keeping them and as any Super League Club adding only the most talented players around them to support and develop our own youngsters.
