Quote: Tre Cool "If its so embarrassing why do you bother? You cant compare the two sports. I find it amazing the amount of people on here that moan about our attendances but dont actually make the effort to come to what amounts to 13 or 14 home games A YEAR. You are the problem, not the marketing, uncomitted fans who claim to love RL but dont follow it up with the support that the club and the sport deserves and needs so much more than most. You just come on here and moan about niggly little problems and justify your dumb reasons for not coming to games.

With fans like these......'"

Get your head out of the sand. There was 1900 people there on Saturday.........FACT

Saturday was chosen by the club because it attracts the best attendances..........FACT

Comparative attendances on last years equivalents are 2000 down on last season .......FACT

Nothing has been done in the last 6 months to address this........FACT

No Super League club can survive on such dreadful crowds........ Suspect this is a FACT

As for me, this is not about me. Sadly I have yet to be able to come to a match this season even if I had wanted to, the first option for me is SUNDAY 17 May which I will attend. I DO NOT GO TO GAMES ANY LONGER BECAUSE I CAN'T !!!!! And it appears that I am not the only one unable or unwilling to go this season.

I live 60 miles from the ground and have travelled to most home games for the last 5 seasons, sorry that you blame the likes of me for the clubs plight. And I have to apologise for expecting the club to have marketed the sport, how could I possibly have blamed anyone other than me for that. My season tickets lapsed and nobody from the club has contacted me from that day to now. You may think that is OK but its pathetic.

I am also very worried that you see our crowd level as a 'niggly little problem'. You are just the sort of fan the club needs..........well done !!

You keep your head in the sand and keep that belief that the current direction doesn't need to change

The club should always aim for sat 3pm kick offs as they are the best for all. BUT playing at the same time as the weekend's major national sporting event is foolish.
None of this season's games have been played at a sensible day/time. This club has far too many lapsed fans and getting them to come back should be key.

FACT icon_biggrin.gif

I guess I cracked at being told that the reason the crowds were poor was nothing to do with clubs marketing but actually all down to the likes of me who dare not to go any more. Biggest tripe I've read on here in 5 years

Are the crowds not a concern then ?

How many quins games a year clash with your bl**dy soccer clubs home games? 4? 5? You could go to every Quins game AND 90% of your soccer games! You have no right to moan about attendances when you dont even make the effort to go to the games. Why cant all these fans that claim to love the game support the only fully pro-club in the south. 'I had to turn my back on the club'...'I cant be expected to go to every game when they clash with my soccer club'. If you're an RL fan and you love the game youd get yourself to Quins home games. End of. I go most of all cos i love watching top level RL.

I have no interest in the views of someone who openly admits that watching second-rate soccer is their priority.

I don't care about people having an interest in soccer, but bleating about how they can't go and watch RL because they want to watch soccer is a joke.

Sadly this is not the case because one of the other things I am involved in through the summer is the running of 10 charity BBQ's which raise around £4000 every year and have done for the last 10 years. So with respect you have no bleedin idea or right tell me what I should and should not be doing. So I choose to fund raise on those Saturdays I have to myself in the summer.

No doubt you will criticise me for daring to put charity fund raising before Rl as well

If Rl was on a Sunday I would be there. I pose the question of how many more would be in the same boat that is all

No, none of those are preventing people from supporting Harlequins Rugby League. People are choosing to take part in these activities over watching RL and thats up to them. Tough sh*t if they have got their priorities wrong.

some people would be prepared to go to both if the times were different.

I struggle to get to 1500 kickoffs on a sat, any other time would be fine for me

Good for you. Rugby League is my number 1 priority and 15.00 kickoffs on a Saturday are great for me. I wouldn't expect to be accomodated if I decided that football is more important. What sort of logic is that?
