I've changed my tune, I'm not gonna say Sarginson is the only player on the pitch against Warrington to deserve a squad number, but he would be the first one to get one.

Krasniqi was excellent.
And no thanks to Judas Gower.

| Quote Londo06="Londo06"Scott Hill played 21 & 22 SL games in the two seasons he came over to London. Second he had a dodgy neck and didn't look right at all, but came back and pitched in. Came on big money, for Harlequins, and was a lynchpin in a much better side than the one we have a few years down the line. That was when we had Lenagan and money, hopefully we can now look to spend money on players and we won't immediately be able to sign the best and the brightest, but those who are attracted to the challenge of moving the club forwards and the fact that we are aiming to spend towards cap.'"
(a)Scott Hill = Big Money
(b)Scott Hill Injured but made to play because of (a)
IMO....Scott Hill didn't represent a very good return on investment for the club.

Considering some of the other donkeys our club has employed over recent years, I think he represented excellent value for money, relatively.

I've gotta go with Dave Lister on that one, all being relative I would say he was a worth the investment and I couldn't say whether he was pressured to go back on the field with a dodgy neck or he forced himself. Rumoured £100k a year was alot but we seem to want to pay closer to the average national wage of £25k rather than the SL average of £65k. You've got to spend the money, especially in the key positions if we are to stand a chance of play-off football in 2012. Hopefully we will have more money to speculate with because as Warrington have proved you have to speculate to accumulate.

| I have to say I didn't think that Scott Hill really justified himself. One of the factors that contributed to this was that I felt that he was on a different wavelength to some of the other players. Sometimes he'd tried stuff that perhaps someone at Melbourne might have switched onto but not with us.
I had similar thoughts during George Best's time at Fulham - although the gap there was somewhat more marked.

I agree that the players around him weren't always good enough to take advantage of openings he created, but that was hardly his fault. I wouldn't expect him to play like a chump just to fit in with those around him.
His signing, at least, showed ambition to have a competitive side. This is something we seem to have sadly lacked in recent seasons.

I would say Scott Hill was dragging the quality up and the team along with him (and our other quality players of the time), I would hardly say he was a detriment to the team. I don't remember cut-out passes to no-one or plays that went to stationary backs or plays that were alien to us, I'd say that more often than not he would have to try to do things to engineer an opening for lesser players and in a worse position on the field in terms of field position and the actual score.

| Scotty Hill was a genius whom could unlock defences, however we had neither the field position nor runners to take advantage of his sublime talent. A lot of his injuries came from turning his back to the opposition and him being hammered when there was no receiver.
In six seasons of Harlequins, the first season was the only one when we had genuine size and power in the Props throughout the game, it then went down to the parts of the game when Louie and Haggerty played at the same time and eventually to 'quick play the ball only' with Temata alongside Heckenberg or Ward. And what have our last four overseas signings been? Second rowers!

Along with the fact that he was prepared to run the ball to the line at pace and then look to pass the ball past our dummy runner. He got hit hard because he went in hard and fast, something alot of stand-offs don't do today.
