| Now that would be something if Lobster & Monkey offered JC a playing contract. The more famous JC on the other hand would be a decent signing.

Do we need a left winger? I thought we were retaining Ogodo!

They aren't, they actually quite admire him from what I know. One of his ex teachers once told me " the only socialist I ever taught here". It's just JC doesn't play to their typical parent and JC doesn't particularly like the fact he went to a grammar being raised so there was a tacit agreement both sides would stay quiet.
Anyway back to RL, apologies for causing that diversion
Edited - to be clear I didn't grow up in Newport and did not attend Adam's. The quote cones from a retired teacher I bumped into in a local pub when visiting my folks.

No apology required Halfdan, thought your post quite interesting & anyway we need all the diversions we can get from our sluggish team naming if not building.

| I see that the Broncos have signed Wellington Albert. Unfortunate photo in the press release. Fumbling the ball whilst being tackled.

| He’s a big fella so that’s good but I can’t help but notice he was last seen plying his trade with a middling L1 outfit so that is becoming a theme now in our recruitment aimed at playoff rugby. It’s a different approach to what most clubs do. Who knows it might work.

| Working Permits do not appear like Magic! even a few think they do??? Yes he may be from playing in L1, but let's at least give him a chance, so the list adds another name, and it is still only the 3rd November! we have got to be realistic with the cuts in monies coming to the club, we are not going to sign top Super League players I don't think.
Doncaster News headline this morning 'There will be more departures' warns Dons Chief Executive! it is going to be a tough time for our game, and the novelty seems to be Women's RL, some seem to feel this will be The Golden Egg LOL, they can't control the game as it is, big announcement this morning Leigh Miners Women have joined Division 2, that will set the game on fire, sorry to be a little cynical with The RFL, and to think the salaries they receive!!

Yes it is good we now have 13 players but I have a feeling teams are back in training in the next two weeks so I think time is moving on. Finance is clearly a problem and with so few fans we generate little match day income but it would be nice to sign some decent current Championship players to go with the promising L1 ones.

Our responses crossed. I said basically the same thing. I can see though that we steal a March on other Championship sides with regards to Southern Hemisphere players so let’s see if any come our way.

| Weve got 20, but just not announced.
Albert is a decent signing. Some more grunt in the pack. Him and LB looking good.
We wont be pushing for th PO, but mid table would seem like a result currently

Again with the apolgies.
Immigration agents have direct line to the civil servants who deal with these cases. Post Brexit and In Covid, there will of course be roadblocks and delays, but we announced our intentions to go part time 2 months ago and the new dawn was known about a year ago, so there's little excuse for huge delays.
Immigration agents get paid to smooth the passage to a decision and even more to appeal if need be.
In terms of "working from home".....this is a paper trail process. If the applicant (and their agent) have supplied all the correct documentation, they will have been allocated a case officer.....it'll be a bigger issue calling us an elite sport given the tin pot nature of what we've become.

| Let’s face it we have been picked clean and mostly by other Championship teams. I assume the management must have signalled their intent to go PT to the 1st team at a reasonably early point to allow them to seek out additional careers - apply for teacher training/ electrician/plumbing apprenticeships. Judging by the fact that we appear to have retained only 2 of our senior regular starters I assume it was a really negative reaction. But still we ploughed on ( no pun intended).
