On what evidence? Is it jus a ginger hair thing or somat? Man writes 500 word article once a month and doesn't grunt when talking to fans, so we'd better make him CEO!

to the bit in Bold
I believe that Mr Wells has a Law Degree which points to a level of intelligence (then again, so does Brian Moore).

I know a few people on the road to a law degree. Trust me, I would not want them in charge of our club more than I would a bin man.

Most of the people I work with have a law degree. Outside of their 'zone' you wouldn't believe the stuff they come out with.
Our next CEO needs a lot of intelligence knowledge and commitment to take us forward.
p.s.I fear that if Evans has to stand down it could have serious consequences for us in the long run. Remember, he was instrumental in bringinging us to the Stoop.

| With the latest revelations today, there is a real possibility that The RFU could force Evans out of Quins RU. With everything that has happened, and his alleged cover-up r/e Tom Williams I don't think we should be too quick to want him.

I doubt whether we would be allowed to. A bit like a dark shadow hanging over the Stoop for the RU lot. If he is forced out he can hardly be accepted anywhere around the ground

| On the Mark Evans situation, I don't know if it has been mentioned on here before, if so my apologies, but I was surprised to see in today's Daily Telegraph story on the 'bloodgate' scandal, under the byline of Paul Kelso Chief Sports Reporter, that Harlequins (presumably just RU?) are "losing £1million a year and have net debts of £14million".
The story goes on to state that "the club are owned by Australian resident Duncan Saville and current chairman Charles Jillings via a series of offshore entities with the ultimate holding company being Guensey based Mosaic Limited, which has made an interest free loan of £8.65 million to the club.
The club recently took on a further £6.5 million bank debt to fund the redevelopment of the South Stand at the Stoop. These assets will have to work extremely hard if the club are to absorb the cost of the row, which may yet extend beyond the £260,000 ERC fine, without further testing the financial commitment of the owners"

'" This is absolutely true.
Although it is quite incredible that despite the ever worsening news coming out of the RU club this week, they are still able to announce a new associate sponser - Samsung! To think that they can manage that through the current fiasco and we struggle for ANY sponsorship.

Quins are making front and back page news plus the lead stories on the sports bulletins. We have our pitance of a crowd declaring they've had enough and are never coming back

I still think the ERC could ban them from the Heineken Cup this year, I also half expect a points deduction from the Guinness Premiership (which will probably be enough to cost them a play-off place, but not enough for a relegation dogfight. I also think that unless he walks, Mark Evans could receive a ban or be removed by the RFU, who are more than able to do this.

I doubt that he would be able to make a fist of our ceo job if he is forced out. His contacts and influence will be much less with the damage this will do to him.
