2 things here. Firstly, I was responding to a poster saying it had been reported that we had invested heavily in recruitment. Given he is our only announced signing, it is fair to speculate until we are told more. Secondly, was it my use of the word IF that gave away that I was speculating?

I did say he had gone part time.....I wasn't wrong. He was advertising his services as a personal trainer on twitter. He hasn't been mentioned in a match report for anyone in 2013......that's why I thought you could help with info.

Have we signed any top tier players? The number of grand final type players on offer would point to me being correct BTW......and the Sydney media can say what they want. Until they start producing signed players, I will assert that at this late stage, the club have made a rod for their own back.

Basically, I reckon there are not a lot of good players left for us to sign for the 2014 season. Failing to sign a Manly prop doesn't disprove my assertion and neither does pulling me up on the exact direction that an U20 player has moved at Cronulla between 2012 when he played 10 times for the team and 2013 when he didn't get mentioned anywhere in regards to the 20's or the reserve grade, who were crowned champions.
I bow to your superior knowledge that U20 to reserve is not a step backwards, but given it looks very much like he didn't get a game at the higher reserve level, my point is still valid.
As for you defending the club? I probably do you a disservice in saying that. You seem to have targeted me for particular attention since I suggested Gus might have performed "favours" for Hughes when I could think of no other reason for his continued employment. Not sure why this upset you so much BTW, because the subject matter himself seems to have got over it.
It is my assertion that regardless of whatever flannel you want to believe, IF WE HAD SIGNED PLAYERS SUBJECT TO VISAS BEING GRANTED WE WOULD HAVE ANNOUNCE AS MUCH.
